Where do you get Bricks of Mud??
lyra_song
My guildmate got a Ruby today from an elemental in Old Ascalon. Talk about a rare drop.
Has anyone ever gotten Bricks of Mud? if so where and who dropped it?

I'm not even sure that that's a crafting material. Or an item Where did you hear of it?
Sol_Vie
I haven't seen them dropped, but you can craft them from certain crafters... mainly in the desert I think. The one that's in Ascalon Foothills before Yak's Bend might craft them too.
And rubies aren't all that rare in my experience when it comes to elementals in Ascalon.

Clay Brick is crafted from 1 Brick of Mud and 1 Pile of Glittering Dust, cost 20 gold.

Never heard of that.. but I once got a Saphire from smites (if that's rare), a montrous eye from Griffs outside of Rankor, and a Monstrous Claw from lightning drakes.

In my quest to reveal as much as the map as possible, I have yet to find a material crafter that makes the Bricks of Mud. I need to look harder.

you can find crafters for bricks of clay at salt flats, deldrimor bowl, and ascalon foot hills. no idea where to get bricks of mud.
Sol_Vie
You have to tell Gwen to tell her little snot nosed friends to go make mud pies and bring some back to you. Then you have to fight the children and hide their bodies. Then carry the mud over to Post and they'll turn into Bricks of Mud.

Wow - this is something that I've never heard of.
What, exactly, would one use Bricks of Mud or Clay to do? Build a house or something? Throw at other players? Smash open car windows to steal the stereos?

I too have never found the mud brick crafter. I am pretty sure he doesn't exist.
Maybe Anet doesn't want us stockpiling clay bricks for some reason? :/

LOL
I think it is farily safe to assume that that NO bricks of mud exist anywhere.
Im also fairly certain that there is no use for them currently.
Guildwars does have several strange objects like this... for example there is a rabbit in pre-searing, you can click on him.. but you cant tame him and he doesnt appear to do anything!
I suspect these odd things exist for one of the following reasons
a] They were originally supposed to have a use in the game but for whatever reasons were ommited from the game, usually time constraints, coding problems. they simply havnt removed the items because, well.. it gives people something wonder about
b] these are clues about possible missions that might happen in future updates, in a similar way that Juicy Junipers are required in certain missions, just as other materials are used in the Simon the Scrybe missions, or ice cubes in SF.
c] these are clues about future items that maybe introduced, or armour!.. if they are then they might even be clues about future proffesions.
I really cant think of any weapon or type of armour in any d&d style game so the chance of them being weapons items or armour is remote, so I would speculate they are for missions or quests.

Clay is used in forging of sword blades, for example.
