Collision problems.

Specs:

Windows XP (fully patched)
Amd 1800 1.53 ghz
768 ram 3200
ati radeon 9800 pro
linksys switch, and firewall. (two separate pieces)
cable modem

Whenever my avatar comes into the proximity of another object I begin to have problems. This includes bushes, other players, mobs, or even the straight edge of a wall. Essentially what happens is my char recognizes it touched something; I maneuver away from it, as I’m running away to suddenly warp back to the place that was registered as a contact area.

So what I see when this happens is 3 warriors engaging me, and since that is bad news I run away, the warrior was quicker than I thought and lands a blow that I don’t see. I pull away from them, I’m thinking to my self how smooth I am for being quick on my feet, and then I’m warped back to the middle of a blood thirsty relentless horde with 25% health and they are winding up for the death blow with a grin.

On the other side when the action isn’t intense I will be running close to a wall, and as I continue on, my character is warped back to the closest place I was near the wall.

This only happens when I use the movement keys (w,a,s,d). If I mouse click my destination it will path me around any objects to get me there on it’s own.

At first I thought it was lag so I’ve done some things to combat it already. So far I’ve checked all the ports required for my switch and firewall. Triggering is enabled. Downloaded new drivers for my video card. None of this worked even after I ran all of my virus software… ad-ware, you name it. Then I formatted my HD, and GW is the only app. Running on my machine.

Is there anything I can do from my side? Like tell my VC to recognize collision better, or am I just screwed?

Normally I am a very patient man, but my fuse is alight. Any help would be appreciated, I’ve exhausted my abilities on this.

Thanks,

Sounds like a memory problem to me, yet again it could be a videocard setting.

why would you think it sounds like a memory problem?
