black dye

i'm fairly new to this game and i just looted a black dye earlier on, some people in my group told me this is worth 4000-5000g. Were they pulling my chain or is this true?

no there not u can get a good shiny penny with that. The trader is pretty high with black dye. Last I saw ppl were selling around 6-7k cause trader was at 8k. Black dye dont come around often for ppl, so yea its something

Very true. As of last night the merchant was selling it for 8500g.

at the very peak of its demand it could be sold for 16k+

i personally sold 3 blacks to the dye trader for 26k EACH

You find them post searing (after you pass through the acadamy) , in all major towns .
Its worth hanging onto them until you pass throught the acadamy same for silver dyes

Silver dye price is holding steady at 850g at traders, so you can sell it for about 700g, whereas, black dye prices are fluxuating lately. At the moment, you can sell black dye for 7k.

i get luckl=y alot in pre. everyone of my chars found a black dye that i saved and when i got to post i sold and bought me the good armor from ascalon. just saying that u shouldnt take pre for granted. there is a lot of stuff in there ppl. find it.

My son ended up with 2 silver drops very soon after he begun playing.
I was in bed when one drop happened the conversation went

son - "I got a silver dye"
me shouting out as I leapt from my bed- "dont do anything with it , dont touch it"
son- "oops"

he had used it on his first warrior armour (he is only 9 and knows different now )

the real fun happens when you get a double drop

*slaps forehead* You're right! I was going by my rickety old memory. I was around when it was around that price. I unloaded a bunch of black dye arouond that time.

My first ever dye was a black from the worms that pop up and down. Can't remember what i did with it though. At that time (a week or so after release), they sold for 1k...which was considered great.

My total black dye count to date is approximately 20 ish.

Yeah i recall the days of black dye costing 1k-1.2k back after the game was released, and thought that was a lot...and then since them its steadily gone up in value.

about the same here but i also have had close to 100 of those lousy ORANGE ones drop.

So far I only got 1 black dye during a griffon run not too long ago. Have been playing for a good 5-6 months too >_<
