New Comp Help

I'm currently thinking of looking for a new computer, but im not very good with the names and terms and other things, before i want to seriously look id like to know what the stuff means, and whats good, such as: 1.8 ghz processor, ATI Radeon something something for (idk), and other things like that, any info you give give me would help alot, thx.
