Ive notices that pets are a little underpowered some of the time, Unless you have a lot of points put into beast mastery pets are usually just a meat shield that dies withing a min or two. Anyway what i was thinking of was that each type of pet could have some kind of "signature move" for lack of better terms. For instance ive noticed my rangers bear use a move called "Brutal Mauling." In Pre searing that "attack" Interupted. Why not have it do the same thing in post?
another example could be wolves could cripple opponents, just like bears will be able to interupt opponents. im not saying that the wolf will cirpple with every attack or every few seconds, but, you know, just a random cripple here and there. same thing with the bear and different "capabilies" for different pets.
This would make pets MUCH more useful in PvP rather than the usual IWAY build, and would make Beast Masters a better Profession choice, the ranger could have a pet based on what kind of build hes using or something like that.
well just my 2 cents.

You spelled "Intelligent" wrong XD

I do agree with you though. Pets some how lose the ability to think and do thier own attacks when you command them. They should still be able to do their own set of attacks and then in addition do whatever skills I have taught them also. If you have the move on your skill bar, the pet should be able to do it at will and when you command it to.

Pets are useful, and when you said "intelligent" I thought maybe you meant AI changes, or controls, which they need. I'm not keen on the idea of "signature moves" - I myslef actually like the idea that pets are simply skins - it makes balance much easier, and I am not constrained to one role with my pet - "Oh no, I spent ages levelling up my Dune lizard - a great attacker but weak on defense - now I need a tank! I guess I'd better ditch my pet and level up a bear..."

Unless multiple pets were allowed per ranger I wouldn't want variation among pets. I like to use the best tool for a job, and variation in abilities would just be frustrating. Players can re-skill and swap armour for example, to tank or deal damage - pets can't - you are stuck with whatever pet you train up.

I hate to say it, but I'm against this unless multiple pets are introduced - too much variation and specialization will be difficult to balance, and I don't want to need to retrain a pet every time I need to change it's role.
