Hmmm, I'm somewhat disappointed that there's only like 5 sets of armors for each character, at least looks wise. I was hoping for a ton of customization just based on looks alone =/
I think it'd be cool if they added like, 5-6 different designs for each armor piece that still had the same stats and cost the same to make. For example, There'd be 5 different looks to the hydromancer leggings, but they'd all have the same stats for that armor level and cost the same to make.

I was thinking this exact thing. Pre-searing, everyone looks exactly the same. Hairstyles and skin color don't matter too much in battle. I want to see a color select in the make-a-character screen, as well as different styles. Make the late-game styles just completely amazing looking, and give me some different cheapo-looking styles early on. Some plate mail would be nice.

One word, expansions.

two words: Initial release.
If someone gets the game wanting all kinds of variety for their 50 dollars, and doesn't get it, they sell the game. If they can.

I'd like to see a different appearance for the same set of armour.
Ie. Pyromancer Armour, but they can be in random colours and models, so each character will have some diversity, but retain the same stats.

For some reason, that does not appeal to me.
As of now, the only thing you can really do to help people diversify is to make dye easily available to everyone. I was thinking of something where you could remove chips and piece from your armor [to look worn], but you'd have a bunch of nearly naked female Elementalists running around.

Most people are satisfied with the dyes they can easily afford later on in the game and the great gameplay GW possess. Some have yet to discover you can mix colors.
It makes you look really shallow when you threaten to quit a game because your character doesn't look like you want it to.

Not just random colours. :P
I meant that 'Pyromancer' armour.. here, listen to this:
Frank buys armour. It is 15 in defense. It looks like a studded leather breastplate.
Bob buys the same armour, for the same class. It is the same price, and has 15 in defense. It looks like a hardend leather vest. But it is still statistically the same piece of armour.
See?
Different looks for the same stat armour.

Creating a nice model and well skinned additions is quite tough, especially with 5 seperate sets of armor that all look good at varying heights on each of the 6 classes, and infact I believe there are a few different ones as I've not seen anyone with the brigandine look later in game, it closes itself down to like platemail, gladiator, knight, and dragon, maybe something else.
Just don't see it as necessary as having great looking armor, which it does already, except for that stupid charr face or whatever that looks like a demonic pig's head on the platemail, really looks stupid, especially with the eagle on their pauldron.

*amen* I totally agree. I would love to see huge variety in armors. Characters should have personality in appearance. Especially considering everyone is human and scaling your character is only a 1-dimensional type change.
Plus when you find armor it could have random colors that are obvious on it. AKA ugly.
Perhaps allow "armor decorations" feathers, gold trims, "hats", etc. How about flags, tassely stuff, things like that.
Allow people the full range from ugly to beautiful. Let necromancers be pretty if they want. It won't affect the game, just the enjoyment. (it does take some DEV effort though, but not as much as new races, plus they can be gradual).

i just think its a shame they went the old route of how an armour looks dictates its ability -for example i like the effects of Gladiator armour but the look of Wyvern. Shame we cant choose the style then seperatly the AV/bonus assocaited with it =(

yeah I wish the druid armor was actually dyed... instead of the little "sash" on your chest.
