Exploiting the AoE Nerf - Fire Ele Farming

Ok, maybe it's not really "exploiting" the latest AI farming "nerf" in any way, but I came up with this build that seems to work well now that the AoE nerf has been implemented (11-11-2005) and I thought I'd share it. It takes advantage of the fact that monsters scatter on AoE.

This build is used to farm Minotaurs at Elona Reach. It's been tested and it works decently. The most important thing is the spell order.

The Attributes: 15 Fire, 11 Energy Storage, 11 Earth Magic

The Skills:

Lava Font
Flame Burst
Inferno
Armor of Earth
Kinetic Armor
Elemental Attunement {Elite}
Fire Attunement
Aura of Restoration


The spell order:

Cast Aura of Restoration prior to aggro'ing
Cast Kinetic Armor just as your aggro circle touches the minotaurs
Cast Armor of Earth right before they hit you (ideally)
Cast Fire Attunement
Cast Elemental Attunement
then:
1. Cast Lava Font
2. Cast Inferno
3. Cast Flame Burst
The minotaurs will scatter, use this time to cast:
1. Lava Font
The minotaurs come back
2. Cast Flame Burst
The minotaurs scatter, cast:
1. Lava Font
2. Flame Burst

and so on until the Minotaurs fall. Throw in an Inferno every once in a while when it's recharged. After a few rounds of Lava Font, they'll all drop. Once you get the hang of this build, you'll be spending the entire time at pretty much full HP. A decent way to get some fast EXP for your elementalist and a little bit of gold.

Congratulations, it does works very well, better than my other build.

Fast EXP? Pft. We all know the true purpose of this build. And, ah, I have some Ettins to try this out on as well >_>

Nice build. I use a combination of earth and fire magic also. Except I still use Meteor shower. It hits the mob 2 or 3 times, but mostly twice. Then do some instant aoe damage.
