weapon proficiency question

does each class have a specific weapon they're better at using than other classes?

From what I understand from the FAQ, yes, in a way. It depends on your attributes and what skills you have access to.

I'm still new to this game. So, I hope someone more experienced can give you a better answer. Or at least examples.

Sort of. Any class can use any weapon. However there are certain weapons that add bonuses for certain attributes and others that require certain attributes to be at a particular level to be effective. For example anyone can use a sword. However there are swords that require level 5(or higher) Swordmanship attribute. Since this is a Warrior attribute; only characters with the warrior profession (Primary or Secondary) will get the full use of the weapon. You will end up using a weapon that will allow you to get the most out of one of your professions.
