Do Fast Casting attributes only apply to the one Fast Casting skill?

Hi all,

I recently bought this Chakram:

Inscribed Chakram [blue]
Energy +12 (req. 9 Fast Casting)
Improves Casting speed using Fast Casting skills (20%)
Improves Skill recharge using Fast Casting skills (20%)

Here's my concern: as far as I know, there's only one skill associated with the Fast Casting line, the elite Mantra of Recovery which I haven't even capped yet. Do the attributes of this chakram only apply to this Mantra? That would make one mean Mantra, but that's about all I can think of as an effect. If this is the case, why would an item with these attributes be around in the game? Or are there plans to add more skills to the Fast Casting line in future expansions?

The chakram has gotten me curious, also to see if I was right in spending 2k on it Thanks in advance for your replies!

However, there is only one fast cat skill (the Mantra of Recovery) and that is the only skill affected. For a really useless item, in Droknar's Forge a collector gives out an item that boosts soul reaping skill - which don't exist

So far, all there is is the mantra for Fast Casting, which ironically would only make half of that chakram useful (since it's instant-cast).

No doubt there'll probably be more fast-casting skills in the time of the expansion. The gaping hole in the skill list is too large to ignore.

2k? If you feel that spending 2k on a collector's item is worth the money, sure.

Look on the bright side.

At least you didn't pay 2k for that collector's cesta in Droknar's Forge that gave the same bonuses for Soul Reaping skills.

Hi people, thanks for your replies I'm fine with the 2k, I still think it's a nice item, but maybe just a bit ahead of its time I'll just keep it around and see if it's any good when the expansion comes out. You live, you learn...

increasing fast casting increases castingspeed on all the spells u use. However, as mentioned in this thread, there's virtually no one who chooses mantra of recov as an elite. The item itself is pretty useless then. And most mesmers put fast casting on 7 anyway. (spells which take 2 sec are cast instantly, emphety for example). Other attribs are simply more important, depending on your build of course.
