Was there a MOD Revolution?

I have noticed newer Mod names at the bottom of the forum pages. Older Mod names have dissapeared. Where some Mods simply kicked?

I understand that. I am glad to see Aniewiel's name is still up. She is the yardstick which all other Mods to strive for. I also notice some of the newer Mods have ichy trigger fingers....I also can understand the Zealous Feel of being a Mod...but let some of these threads breath a bit before closing them.
It isn't going to take up that much Server space in the long run.

My understanding of a Moderator...is just that...moderating.

as for the itchy finger syndrome modt times it is the feeling that i have to keep as much order as possible not simply showing power.

it is easier to relax a bit as circumstances merit but much harder to tighten.

faction for example.

people were overjoyed at the 5x event but if they had made anything less as a permanent basis the screams.............the screams

The admins decided to do some mod cleanup, so they moved the inactive mods to Site Contributors while recruiting some new mods.

lol...
So how do people get chosen to be moderators? Isn't it a big responsability that the admin is trusting the selected peoples with? I was just wondering what the process is to select moderators.

It's the season for change

Honestly, there's been a few new moderators recruited in such a way that there can be at least one on at all times, in the event of issues that need serious and immediate attention. Yes it does take a while to get used to, but I have confidence that their desire to do right will ultimately refine the board to an overall better state.

Some of the old mods were moved to different usergroups due to school and other circumstances (I wish we knew where Sausaletus went! He disappeared without a trace ), so the newer mods are stepping in to help fill in during those inactive spaces.

We're all still working hard, though. Aniewiel is our role model and the matron of the moderator league

And Aria's the one with the whip behind us moving us along (just kidding! honest)

I know what Dood's referring to. Some people I've seen around for a while become moderators, other times I'll see people who've registered in a day become an admin. I often times can't find any bit of information about some moderators/new admins at all, it's like..."Who're they? When did they get here?"

I assume that several moderators/admins have been given their titles because they're friends of admins or current moderators...? That's how it looks. I guess they could've also done something "behind the scenes" for the website...? There was one admin a while ago, Barbarian or something like that. Nobody I knew had seen him...or her...or...it ( ), before. It was like...waaaaah?

Beats me, guess I'm not too concerned about it though. So long as none of the moderators/admins send me death threats with hearts and kisses on them, I'll be fine. A good majority of the moderators are my friends!

I get bonus points for that, right?

There are still people that stick around and eventually become mods like Savio. *Remembers bashing Savio's old avatar in Avatar Rating Thread*

Well I had a post deleted in the PieXags Movie thread.....I have NO CLUE as to WHY!

What really burns my shorts is that the Mod didnt even PM me or anything...

This is my point on new Ichy Trigger Finger Moderators!

OWD its a conspiricy, but I do like the more triggerhappy mods as long as they don't visit the Off Topic Forum and do their job.

to me it is no big deal.

the post will vanish into the ooze in a bit anyway

It isn't that big of a deal....I just like to know why I was singled out. I am Old School...PM me! Anyone that knows Pie & I is that we banter all the time. I have always thrown humor toward him...and he toward me. Oh...even when I am not that funny...he appreciates the effort.

Maybe the moderator saw your name and title. If it were I who deleted the post, I would've just figured you were so old and filled with knowledge that you'd know yourself. Since you're so old and all. I mean, you're practically psychic, right?

We do not send out PM's for every post we delete. Just wanted to state that now. Why? Because to send out a PM for every one-liner or for every post that goes off-topic in a thread is really not necessary. I average that 75% of people KNOW why their post gets deleted. Most of my comments for a deleted thread read.... "does not contribute to the discussion".

If anyone finds a post of their's has been deleted and wants an explanation, please PM me or Aria and we can hunt down the reason and let you know. We are more than happy to do this! Please know that we are not singeling anyone out. Sometimes it's disheartening to start reading a really good discussion and then see someone hi-jack the thread with another topic or comments that don't belong. So please, feel free to contact us and we'll let you know why it was done.

Also, we do not promote anyone to a moderator or admin position because they are friends or 'buddies of ours'. It is not a "status symbol" to wear the moderator or admin title next to someone's name. It's a volunteer position that requires work and they get beaten down some days with PM's, moderating duties, etc. when they could be in game or doing something else. It's truly a thankless job most of the time.

We have Site Contributors who get to wear a prestiguous title and should be recognized for their contributions. Every single person on this staff though has earned the right and opportunity to help out this community by being part of this staff.
