log on problems

I started the game on the day it was available plated it with no problems-on win xp-norton firewall---may 4 could not log on--message-- make sure you are connected to the internet try again.I e-mailed c/s three times no help--is there a phone number to call support?Hope someone can hlp me

Must be a firewall issue, please note that turning off Norton Personal Firewall won't do anything at all. Also make sure that windows firewall isn't on if your already running norton.

The only way to turn off Norton Personal Firewall is to completely uninstall it.

the game ran fine until may 4--with the same firewall installed.I dont intend to go online without a firewall if that is your suggestion

You never know it when your using windows, settings could have been messed up without knowing it. Happened to me before, especially with norton personal firewall.

Make sure that Gw.exe has the correct permissions to connect to the internet, i'm pretty sure that this already has been done. But if they are set right you could always try and remove the rule and add it again.

Did it perhaps stop working after an update?

I fixed the problem--writing this to help other players--I had to contact a privite computer expert--the rules in norton had to be changed[simple].gw support = useless-they should have a telephone number to call for tech support.this e-mail support is lacking or the people working there are not trained properly.Don't bother to tell me other mmog's are the same,I play one and help is very fast,including "ingame support".Hopefully someone from gw reads these forums.Having an online game with no monthly fee is great as long as the issues are resolved in a timely fashion.
