i would but dude 68 mb? is this a video?

what can you say about edge that hasn't been said already. it is extemely powerful and very easy to run. hell you only need 2 skills to make it work well.
you probly won't be making it to halls with it. if you do i dought you win. not saying its impossible but highly unlikely. it is a good faction farmer though. i've seen 1:30-2 minute battles in tombs 8vs8vs8vs8 teams.

I love EoE bombs, quick and effective. It does however has one major flaw - it relies on Edge Of Extinction. If the spirit carrier(s) gets interupted while laying it then you're in trouble.
Our guild went up against an edge bomb earlier today and luckily we had the drop because we saw a bunch of necros and figured it would be edge bomb. We all spread out except the warrior who saw a nec/ra laying the edge and he quickly ran up and destroyed the spirit the moment it was laid. Shortly followed a number of sacrifices and then we just had to mop up. I guess we were just lucky that we took the spirit down as soon as it went up or we are lucky enough to have a warrior who is on the ball. However you look at it, without the spirit and without everyone being in its range, the build breaks horribly.

i figured out edge's range the thing is the size of your compass. that's crazy eoe dmg that cannot be reduced.
r/mes with mantra of resolve
rest of your party a primary and everyone else 2nd mes. all of you bring 5 sup runes or bring life to about 150 (your choice).
don't forget your mark of protection.
the ranger cannot be interrupted now. 1 cast of less than 2 seconds from fast casting Illusion of Weakness. gg if you want to make this faster just go with mes/ele. glyph of sac the illusion of weakness. that's an instant kill as soon as eoe hits.
saw this take out 3 other teams at one time

Actually the range of a spirit is approximately twice the range of your aggro bubble. Basically, its not the size of the entire radar, its somewhat less. However, for some reason, even if the spirit does not appear in the top left (or wherever you put those icons), you still take EoE damage. I suspect it has to do with the fact that if someone else is in range of the spirit he deals damage to everyone in his own...? I'm not sure.

Try this at some time.....one person in radar of edge...another in radar of that person...etc until you are spread all across the entire map and guess what?
Edge still kills.....the way it chains along people is pathetic...it should just be a single area of effect and not a chained area.
Anet pls nerf this along with iway in the next update.

Weve won halls while goofing off with edge bomb. was quite fun. i love running builds like that. granted its simple and dumb half the time, but its fun to watch everything just go splat in like 1/2 a second

Anet pls nerf this along with iway in the next update. it does have an area of affect. why do you think that when someone sees that its an edge bomb, everyone spreads out or someone stays back.......
and for gods sake, just because you cant beat it, dont start bitching for a nerf of something else. why dont we just go back to the old days where we had 2 white lines bouncing a ball back and fourth. oh wait i moved my stick faster. NERF!!!!11

thats hilarious, some ppl do want a "nerf" (man i hate that word more than noob) to fast. Some ppl just dont want to take the time to LEARN (gain more skill) how to do beat certain things.

Edgebomb is easy to setup and easy to counter, yet unprepared teams get owned by it within seconds. But go and try Edgebomb against a guild in the rankings. You won't really see them fail against an Edgebomb.
Basically there are too many very easy counters to this.
Counter 1) Kill the Spirit.
The spirit takes 5 seconds to place and has a somewhat long recharge. Most if not all edgebomb teams don't plan ahead for the case they get interrupted or the spirit dies.
Counter 2) Spread your Team.
Actually EOE DOES have a range unlike some folks wanted to state here. And it is not that much of a range as well. Just spread a bit and at most, two or three of your members will drop like flies while on the other team there probably is just one person left.
Counter 3) Mark of Protection
Bam, immunity anyone?
Edgebomb is just a funny way to mess with PVP and it is a lot of fun as well. Try it once and you'll see. Many swearings flying your way.

we took out a few good guilds, notice how theres not 1 necro in the party so its not that easy to counter, we went up against a team twice they knew we were edge and we still won
we made it to halls and took out holding team so red could win for fun

Anet pls nerf this along with iway in the next update. no way this should be nerfed. it doesn't win GvG. it doesn't consistantly win HoH. its great for faction farming but that's about it. you might win halls every now and then but not like other fotm used to.

There seems to be an increase in the number of EoE bombs recently - in the tombs today we came up against a pretty good one, as soon as the edge of extinction was up they took about 1 - 2 seconds to do the damage. Quite quick, they were a guild in the top 100 - cannot remember the name
The last time we beat a necro bomb was quite hilarious - as the necros continued to sacrifice themselves even though the EoE wasn't active
It does appear to be quite an effective faction farmer, since when we lose against it... it's a quick loss

I ran into a this build once, funny as hell. I had a slow load so I ended up hanging back, my ENTIRE TEAM DIED. Then it was just me against a W/Mo, I was playing a blood necro. I won... it was funny to show up just in time to watch everything die though... :P
Cool video. (a bit large) I'm gonna have to do some research on EoE builds...

One thing i want to mention about nerfing - when Smiting was still popular, almost every team had a smiter in it. Technically, smiting wasnt overpowered and it was clearly beatable. However, Anet took steps to 'nerf' almost all of the skills in your typical smiters skill bar, essentially nerfing smiters.
The reason im mentioning that is because Anet nerfed smiting not because it was overpowered - theres still debate about that - but because it was so popular. Im starting to see similarities between the arguments of how to beat IWAY's and smiting; "Any good team brings counters to it", "just because you cant beat it doesnt mean it should be nerfed", etc.
If Anet acts consistently with what they did in the past - which isnt a fact - they will nerf IWAY (I suspect that ANet has alot of things to consider beyond simply skill imbalances when they think of nerfing IWAY). EoE builds are still just joke builds that i doubt will ever really be nerfed.

MoP doesn't really fit into many builds... except maybe another EoE bomb i don't know about the chain. i have seen it kill everything inside of compass range. i saw one bomber kill their entire team halfway across the compass standing next to the eoe. the door was blocking as the other 2 teams fought. they dropped eoe and killed everyone within compass range. does it chain? i don't think so. if those 2 teams were outside of eoe's range there is no way they were close enough for the bombers to kill them haflway across the map by a chain. since it did kill them that tells me that both teams were inside of eoe's range. nightrunner
The sad thing is, the guild that came up with the EoE bomb thought of it as a joke and only played it because it was so much fun when they managed pulled it off... Now it's a FoTM

Our guild did it yesterday for a laugh...and it was hilarious... especially on Scarred Earth...
Oh and we got 10% on ghostly's by just doing archane echo Energy Surge... x 7... We almost had too much life for illusion of weakness to kill us *gg* More tonight xD Too Hot Fo You

EoE builds are still just joke builds that i doubt will ever really be nerfed. Every body wants IWAY to be nerfed, for a few good reasons, but see it from the standpoint of ANet. There is nothing wrong with the skills of the IWAY build, and that's causing them some trouble. You can't just nerf balanced skills because there's a good build outside. You have to ask yourself why IWAY is gettin so well along? It misses three basic things of a good team: 1) Hex Removal 2) Condition Removal 3) Healing 4) Enchant Removal Now the enchant removal is tricky, the necro(s) of an IWAY team makes the difference between loss and win, corpse control, well of profane. Now if your team can interrupt the necro with well of profane, you have nice enchants up on a line that is guarding the stairs to the starting point. There is no reason why you should loose against IWAY. It just depends on disabling the necro, because he controls the game. Thats all you really need against an IWAY team. Yichi

Hey Frosty! Beezy just informed you posted fraps of us bombing, lol! Too funny.
Lim-Dul
OMG - I can't take those people crying out "nerf this, nerf that" - sweet Jesus - learn to counter those builds! They are on the forums, analyse them, counter them - you've got all the time in the world to think about different solutions for defeating them! Most of these seemingly uber-builds are far worse than any balanced group that knows what it's doing. It's just a matter of figuring out the enemy's strategy and adapting to it.
EoE bomb is funny, but I defeated one with an IWAY PuG only yesterday. And yeah - IWAY sucks - not because it's such a formidable build, but because it is so bad and easy to counter. I only ever use it in PuGs since it's so easy to organise an IWAY group. fiery
all bring Mark of Protection and let em go boom.
Lim-Dul
Not to mention the fact, that you could buff yourself up to have more health than their "sole survivor" ranger.
Btw. that opens a question for me, Frosty. All of you were actually Illusion 12 Mesmers with lotsa Superiors to drop your health. But not one of your Rangers who was a R/Mo. From what I understand his build was designed to survive the EoE to guarantee your victory. Do you have any details on his build? Just Mark of Protection or some other skills like Divine Intervention, Watchful Spirit, Some Bonds on him Vital Blessing maybe as well? Frost_

yes that is the true test of the build. but there is a way around that. take 2 sets of armor for yourself. one set for the runes and one set for the ghost. that can only be done by pve characters but it is an edge.
i played this build to try it out. took me 8 times to get through the ghost. once we finally made it past the ghost it was smooth sailing. Frost_

Hmmm - who actually placed EoE in your team? Was it Power Of My Rangerz? I mean - EoE had to be coordinated with his Mark, but I guess this could be done e.g. via TS. What was his setup? Healing and Prot - well Prot obviously, but other attributes? He kind of did for your monk out there (especially during the ghost battle I presume =)

Haha, yea, that's how IWAY started out too. It was designed as a joke, and it worked better than expected as it bulldozed the smite metagame. Then it became FotM. | People are always saying "nerf this! nerf that!" to these FotM's when it's relatively easy to counter them. Why hasn't anyone screamed "nerf Balanced Build!!" even though the counters to those are far more elusive and they're far more powerful in the hands of expert players? |
