Unlocking PvP Mode

Hey all, I just left WoW for Guild Wars and must say i love it !

I have a question about the creation of a PvP character : Ive noticed nearly all skilled are ''locked'' for each class and I'm wondering...how do you unlock them ?

Also, is there a way to get more equipment for your character to choose from ?

Any skills you acquire in the RP mode unlock in PvP.

Ok...what about items ?

items are available on pvp characters, however, item upgrades also need to be unlocked via rp.
