as i was falling in love with GW the friendd that quit another MMO so we could gank together wants to hit up L2 equally as bad it seems his main concern for this game is that itll take him forver for him to get to know stuff on a new MMO and the other thing is only being able to use 8 moves that seem kind of the same in his eyes and when i looked at it i could kind of see his point...is there enough diversity or does it get somewhat bland and why would you change skils if you had an effective combo or is there any time when you would need to adapt in skill selection

It's easy enough to pick up the basics and not get confuses about what to do in a situation, but there is so much to get and learn i doubt that you'll get bored.

Theres a very good chance that within a month or tow, you could be palying a completely different skill set than what you started with while playing the same class combination. As more people play and gain skill in GW, the strategies will change and some builds will become more popular and others will fade. In time those popular builds will also fade because another build comes around that can beat that one.
The effective combo this month could and willb e countered so you'll have to keep you're strategy changing. The beuty of having access to approximatly 150 skills is that you should always bea ble to produce a good skill set based on the current popular strategies and builds.

The forum is as of now Arenanet's current recommended site. We would like to keep it that way. So a period her and there and text written in paragraph form would be greatly appreciated.
Checking your spelling is also recommended, and please provide more accurate title descriptions for your threads. This help's us keeping the forum focused. The developers at Arenanet are continuously monitoring this forum for suggestions and ideas and you are wasting their time with titles like: "sigh".
You were concerned about the limited amount of skills available. This forum's home page also lists all the different professions with complete skill listings for primary and secondary classes. You will see after reading the Guides sections that the number of skill combinations is close to infinite.
A little harsh start Poof, but we are all pretty friendly here except: Ensign the Grouch and Saus Rex the Insane! Stay away from those guys. Do not trust anything they say!

Please stay informative and don't be a "Post RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO" Thank you. As I have accidentally learned the hard way, don't have pointless posts.
Now, GuildWars has alot to offer that all the other MMORPGs dont have. Try it, if you dont like it, it wont be bad I mean, there aren't any monthly fees! WHich is probably the best feature.

What makes my post less important than yours? i come here asking a ligetimate question and all of a sudden i am a post RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO? thats very professional.

It didn't contribute to the thread. The thread that YOU created. So yeah, learn from me, don't create a post that has no value to the thread. Not to be rude, but I would know.

Would you not see where i could take both your and weezers posts in a different way not knowing the rules? It was my fault for not reading the rules but i ask a question and someone messages saying "use periods." i dont know weezer and he didnt say anything about rules. I thought it was some rude person criticizing me needlessly. i have never in my life been on a forum that cared and then you are shouting stuff out without giving a reason which solves nothing. I propose that next time we skip your first non-contributing post and move to the second and save the confusion.

Don't sweat it to much. Unfortunately there has been some ill-will towards l33t speek here, and as a matter of fact a couple of people have been booted of because of it. That all being said you will get 5 warnings befor you get booted (I'm assuming that's what Nova was talking about). We all make mistakes and the people here give you a chance to correct unwanted behavior. Weezer was just trying to give you a heads up befor you got a warning (the other is to use spell-check I'm still waiting for me to get a warning on that one, I can't spell)

Addressing your first post : I disagree that skills are very similar at all. There are a couple that overlap, but considering there are over 400, its pretty tough to pick just 8 to use at once. Of course, you can change them anytime your not in a mission, so your character is far more versatile than in typical MMO's. Even if you are playing warrior character, there are very versatile skills, plus you can choose from your secondary profession. A warrior can load up on attack skills, get enough defense to be near-invulnerable to physical attacks, or use conditions to cripple their opponent. You can come up with hundreds of different builds to try, and each will play differently. Hell, there are 30 different profession combos to burn through anyway, that will provide plenty of diversity.

So... your friend can't be bothered to learn the ropes for a new MMORPG, and yet he's planning to take up L2. Your friend doesn't like it how he can only bring 8 skills... despite how he pointed out that all these skills are the same anyway.
It sounds to me like your friend just doesn't want to touch GW.
