Post AoE Patch - Solo UW Monk Build
Divinus Stella
I prefer to go solo, i know a few people who go in 2 man teams and they get less ecto so i dont see the need for a Necro to leech away my cash, a necro will speed up attaxes, but when you get to smites they really arent faster.
If you want a way of getting thru smites without SV then get a decent monk, smites die fast enough to SoJ/Zeal with decent timing on the zealots, and i find when solo you can afford to take on more smites at once as you dont have to worry about gettin dmg spikes from smite hex or the smites running off and killing the necro when you need to scatter then inbetween shields.

actually...decent 55 monks (like myself) carry separate weapons sets, i personally carry 3 different ones, one is 55, the other is 105, the other is 135
this means with one death (15% dp) my health is at 1 with 55hp weapons, but when i switch to 105 set, im at 33.
usually ill get a decent amount of morale boost before i die again, so i dont use the third set often.
Vengeance is used with second resurects though (if its a n/mo, which i prefer)

Listen...Now all of you are going to say....What about the nitemares??
THis is what you do. As soon as you spawn put on all enchantments and then aggro first group....Cautiously... Back up so only 1 nitemare pops up...First hit the nightmare with your wand(must meet req) then use smite...Instanstly casts and then kills them..so cast your melle wand than use smite...They die fast. Now just spam prot spirit and healing breeze. After you have the group aggored just keep using riposte and SoJ. They mite take sometime to die but it works...
Attributes used. Need 185! or more!

balathazar's Spirit+1 energy a hit
Essense Bond: +1 energy a hit
Prot Spirit: 11 seconds of prot spirit
Healing Breeze: +9 health regeneration for 10 seconds
Smite:50 damage +32 if attacking
Shield Of Judgement:18 Seconds of 41 damage and knockdown everytime they hit you
Riposte: 39 damage on next attack
Tested and successfully works Will get Video If Possible!
Does this work for anyone else? Good idea on bringing smite, bad idea taking bonettis out... This build is quite vulnerable to interrupts, and im not talkint about aatxes, im talking about the !#%$ squids (aatxes just cast PS before casting breeze and u'r ok because those dumbasses waste the savage slash).
Now for the rest of the thread, i'd like to know exactly how does SV helps against the smites. Is it to make them burn the energy and cannot use smite hex/reversal and therefore are siting ducks? Cause i always thought that monsters in GW had infinite energy :|
1 more thing about SV is that its excelent at the initial part because allows the invincimonk to agro alot more at once and speed up the run by a huge amount.
And for last, usually when doing dual runs there's no need to bring SoJ, u can just do like this:
PS
Breeze
/*free slot*/
SB
Blessed aura
Essence bond
Balthazar spirit
Mending
Sure u cant kill anything, but really there's no need because without SoJ the monsters attack like 2 times faster and take looots of damage from Spitefull.
For the free slot one can use his imagination... :P
As for necro, a standard SS/SV build work fine just bring some energy management skill...
Actually i have 1 question about this (i dont usually play with necro much):
Shouldn't SS trigger even if the foe misses the attack ? The skill says it triggers on attack, not on hit... If this is true, the SS necro could have a huge upgrade, 4 example: price of failure and spirit of failure could both generate more damage and energy.

Savage slash is energy based. with 10 second recharge. Fighting 2 attaxes and see 2 savage slashes. you have 10 seconds of free casting. you can decoy skills to make them savage slash the mending you where casting that you alrdy have That's why there is the hp -20 item. So that you can be ressed to 13 health. And candy canes now, as well.

not bad, but There's quite a bit there that could be improved. For instance, initial energy management (how to get energy after you've enchanted) and bleeding. Why would you bring watchful spirit if mending has the same penalty but gives you more bips? when you're bleeding with +4 mending, you still have +1 bip of health regen, which can keep you alive long enough to recast breeze. Also I don't really think you need EB, Balths, AND channelling for in-fight energy management. Also: theres no sense bringing more than 13 healing, because at 13, both breeze and mending are at max (+8 and +4). Just my .02 though gl.

lol ya my bad tactics...help bonetties too....and im making a video of it...it will be in sets and will show aataxes, killing nites, smites, and the o so annoying and horrible coldfires
mikeydj99
and btw invici monks can be rezzed an infinite amount of times...bring rebirth and vengeance...use rebirth to get them out of group and he will die right away....but then u can use vengance which rezes them at 100% full health for 30 seconds.....thats plenty of time to switch armors offhand etc....rebirth is the key to getting them out of group so the ss necro dosent die..This goes for dualing Uw...U can Also dual FoW...way different buid...ill tell if anyone wants to know

Hello to all. This is my first post might as well give up the goods
I use a MO/ME build for my solo UW monk and I never have any issues with it. This is it SOJ Arcane Echo Baths Spirit Mending Essence Bond Prot Spirit Healing Breeze Mantra of Resolve/Sympathetic Visage I use a 20% enchant mod on my axe and I can basically run SOJ for long long extended periods. It takes two SOJ echos to kill the groups of attaxes and the others mostly die in one SOJ echo. With the nightmares. If there is one I can take it down with the Ivors staff in two hits. But with two I run behind the dude down on the bottom and recast prot spirit. I have not had an issue with the nightmares if you time the patrols right and have your longbow handy you should be good to go. I use 4 weapon sets and just switch from bow to Ivors staff if they spawn. Works good. If you swap out sympathetic visage you dont have to worry about interrupts at all. Cast it on yourself and the attaxes will not ever have enough adrenaline to cast savage slash. I have used tons of other builds but nothing comes close to this for me. I only use this build for solo anymore. It works so well in the desert that it is almost comical. I can take all the rockshots and minatours and griffons in one sweep. There is a limit to the number of foes you can take at once. I would say it is around ten or so minatours because of the high attack rates. The minatours go down in one SOJ echo but if you miss the echo with more than 5 minatours you will die because without knockdowns they can work you over pretty good if you have 55hp or more. If I die and get dp then I can get 17hp and I am unkillable until the dp is gone kaze0099
too bad some of us dont have those items. Any other ways to win with just an enchant sword and the grim cesta? Ive managed to kill quite a few...just having trouble with the whole mana controll thing.
FreshTrax
You can use any smiting rod with light damage on them. There are lots of them out there. There is one from a collector that gives 20% faster skill recharge I think. You shouldnt have a hard time finding a max damage smiting rod. You should also be able to buy one from someone in town for super cheap. Time is the key with the nightmares so you need long range attacks. I am not sure if Light damage is the best for them or not. Any wand might work. I will test it. But the most important thing is to use the longbow so you dont aggro the nightmares at the wrong time.
I have a guildmate that uses a mo/w and he uses zealots fire. When a nightmare pops up he runs over to it and casts breeze. They die in one shot from zealots. So you could try that also. I dont have enough room on my skill bar for zealots If I coudl get nine skills on there it would be scary.. Good luck. Murder In China

Sorry about that on the adrenaline. But they wont ever have enough energy to cast that either.
For 8-18 seconds, whenever target ally is hit by a melee attack, all nearby enemies lose all adrenaline and 3 energy. With the attack rates that they have they wont be able to cast after about 15 seconds. So your first prot spirit wont even be done by the time they are out of energy. This spell works awesome on the second group of foes especially who use skull crack I think. Murder In China
How much mana does a Bladed Aatxe and Grasping Darkness have?
LightningHell
I think....as much as our warriors do, although I'm not certain.

No, +30hp and +20% enchanting both occupy the pommel upgrade slot, which means they are mutually exclusive. You could use a weapon with +5 energy and either +30hp or +20% enchanting though.
