Moved to Q&A.
And yes, that is correct.

No its does not.
Knights armor provides locational reduction. So if you have boots on then the damage is reduced when you get hit on your feet.
Absorbtion Runes reduces the damage.
So to recap, knights armor reduces locational damage.
Absorbtion runes reduces global damage.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh who to believe?

Boxterduke, uhh, no. That's how it's 'Supposed' to work, that's not how it actually works at the moment. Eventually it'll be fixed, but it's not exactly a severe bug so I'm sure it's a long ways down the list of minor issues to fix.

boxterdude is incorrect - at this point in time, the damage reduction from Knight's armor is global.
The only instance armor provides a local bonus is against specific types of damage. For example, a Mesmer's Rogue's Attire add +10AL against physical attacks only against hits to the chest. However, a Mesmer's Performer's Gloves provide a global +15AL bonus whenever casting.

I can voughe for, and prove without doubt that Knight/Ascalon armor deduction is Global.
easiest way is just make a new character, get them to Old Ascalon - buy all normal armor except 1 ascalon peice, make it boots or gloves to prove the point.
The monsters just outside hit 2-3s melee dmg on the normal ascalon city armor. Put a n Ascalon's peice on , and you'll never get hit for over 1 dmg (except lightning orb hits).
Since these monsters are the weakest their the easiest to test.

Feet and hands are the same, and both are the least targeted.
Gladiator's isn't a no brainer, as many warriors would rather have platemail or dragons for the better armor over the additional energy.

I've always used the helm, but only because it looks the best (ascalon). People have been saying that it will be changed for a long time, but personally, I don't see it ever being 'corrected'.
