Pre-Sear To Do List

I don't think I've missed much in the Pre-Searing era, but just to check with others, I want to see if there's anything else I ought to do before I move on.

For reference, this is a level 7 Warrior/Monk.

- Gotten all the Warrior and Monk skills
- Done every quest that I could find
- Collected about 6 extra Belt Pouches because I heard they're good to sell in the future
- Tried desperately to get the tapestry from Gwen, but I'm not sure it's even possible, she's not accepting the cape

Do I need to stock up on anything else? Dyes, other items that are good to sell... what collectors do I need to get the items from before I move on? In short, what do you wish you could go back and do?

I don't remember if I gave her the flute or not, but the quest isn't coming up and the flute isn't there, so I don't know what to do. She'll keep taking flowers, though.

i have the same problem, i've given gwen the broken flute, but she won't take the flute i bought from the merchant or the cape. but she'll take flowers

if you can be bothered you can go to the northlands and kill charr.... there's some nice stuff to be found ... i found some axe fiend armour that unlocked some sorta strength rune for warriors... now i'm waiting til i go post-searing to buy the expert salvage kit....

Yeah, just keep giving her flowers until she gives you the tapestry shred. Otherwise, I'd say move on. I'm usually level 6 when I finally run completely out of quests. I play a little longer to get to level 7, then enter the Academy.

You don't need any items from collectors. I get the upgraded armor just for the sake of completeness (I just consider that another KoA quest), but it's hardly any better than what you start with, and you'll buy new armor almost immediately after going through the Academy.

As for things to farm, scales are the only thing I find easier to get in KoA than in RoA. Since I have a pyromancer, I stock up on scales (which can be salvaged from skale fins) before moving on. Every other crafting material I need, I find easier to farm after going through the Academy.

Belt Pouch sells only for 5-10gp IIRC. It was 50 in the last beta, but the selling price has been nerfed.

Yeah, so unless you want to try to sell the pouches in pre-searing, it really is not worth it, in fact, it's better to sell the 5 fins or belts for 15 gold instead.

As to salvaging stuff, pretty much all the collector stuff can be salvaged, and it can be incredibly helpful to save cash buying ingredients when you get to post. lodestones salvage to granite, fins to scales, belts I forget. Sure, you spend a fair amount of gold on salvage kits, but it can be incredibly helpful when you get to post. Think of it as preparing for the future.

As to Gwen, give her flowers. Give her enough and she'll thank you, tell you you are as nice as her mommy, and give you the tapestry. You don't even have to spend the gold on a flute or the cape. Giving her the flute just means every so often, you get healed for 20hp.

I would do it...

Some quests will never show up because they are dependent on other quests...
To give you an example. I found Qwen's broken flute... post scaring and it's a quest item... If you never gave it to here in the begining...

You never know how it will be used..or who is she the daugter of for that matter comes to mind.

ok anyone who actually done the quest who can tell me what the tapestry is used for and wether it's worth it or not?

I haven't seen anybody say anything about the tapestry shred's use so far. It's either a broken quest, or it's used so late in the game or in such an obscure part that nobody knows about it yet.

I find that if I open the Inventory before clicking Gwen allows the question to be displayed whether to give her the item, or not.
