No math, no formulas, no efficiency shtuff [I'll figure out trix on my own], I'm just wondering from the now dying breed of duelists, how much fun are ya having?

I've been an axeman since the game's release but I was a duelist during the WPE and BWEs.

I'm just getting tired of axing and since PvE involves work, I think I'll be remaking my Kei Kusanagi Executioner into a W/N Swordsman. Question is, how much fun has the game been for you sword users?

[btw, don't try to convince me to stay on axes, I want to replay and that's that ^_^]

Swords are fun ... in addition, they are available at low cost from the weapons guy in Droknar's Forge. Don't forget to check those out.

Not so fun against enemied who don't bleed, but swords are great, a new challenge for you too. Go for it...

somewhat true, but that's why you've got a secondary.

although, I'm a little skeptical about the significance of bleeding, anyway.

As a warrior primary, I have a minor for each weapon mastery and always carry 3 weapons, and a build for each depending on the area I go. I find this ten times more efficient then sticking to one!

Say you want Axe cyclone and some other skills for damaging for group damage, axe is for you.

Swords: Great for cripple/sever/bleeding and status effects <Hundred blades elite rocks too!>

Hammers: You are the master of knockdowns, use hammer in combo with flurry and battle rage with adrenaline knockdowns...nice combo.

Each is situation depending.

Like FOW I tend axe, as you can't bleed in some of the place.. And where you can bleed, use sword, etc.

Personally I'm a warrior secondary (elementalist primary) and I use Hundred Blades all the time. The skill REALLY shines with a zealous enhancement on the sword you use- whap, 24 energy, and an energy cost of 5.

I like swords.

I also agree, depends what areas your going into. If your going into areas for example..... any area with opponents who bleed and suffer from those kind of sword conditions use swords. Now in fow. i tend to use my little spike axe damage build, because almost 0% of monsters in fow sufer from bleeding. But on the other hand i hardly ever use any weopen... The only thing i do with my war really is run droks, and tank sf. and for sf i dont need any attacks, just defensive stuff to keep me alive so meh. all depends on the area

edit: Also, swords are much more pve friendly . axer doing spike damage is more for pvp, since when ur a pve warior?? youll hardly be taking attacks at all, and whats the point of taking spike attacks when u got 2 eles covering your back. might as well just condition all the buggers and be done with it.

In the words of a famousely red armored, red haired Fighter:

I like swords.

Or better still, from Zorro:

"Do you know how to use that thing?"
"Yes. The pointy end goes into the other man."

Swords are fun for me. So far, my main gripe has been with the fact that it seems the only weapon of the three that hs skills that only stick to one target...but I'm at the ring of fire now and am hoping that once I finally get my hands on Hundred Blades, that'll change

W/N doesn't benefit that much from Hundred Blades. I'm using it for the fact that I don't NEED an elite to spike with it...

That and it's an old challenge coming back to me really.

If I can't bleed the enemy, I can Riposte and block the crap out of it.

Tactics + Sword = fun...

I've always been a sword warrior. And I love it very much. Galrath Slash + Final Thrust. I just sometimes feel that there's not enough adrenaline skills. I mean, you'll almost always see a sword warrior with a sever artery, gash, galrath slash, final thrust combo.

I still go into CA and ask for one on one with warriors and see if anyone is smart enough not to attack when I put on deadly riposte and riposte at the same time.

I personally like a warrior/ele with sword. Like a conjure flame + hundred blades combo. Adding sever artery and immolate.

Or there is always the warrior/ranger bleed + poison combo.

I got a W/Mo wielding an axe and W/N wielding a sword, and I enjoy both equally.

Axe is nice mostly because Cyclone Axe is available so early in the game, which makes it great fighting against multiple foes.

Swords can be tough against foes that don't bleed, and it can be a challenge when you're surrounded by foes, since you don't have a sword skill that attacks multiple until you capture Hundred Blades. But as a necro secondary I use Mark of Pain to deal damage to all of them using my sword. It rocks.

I've tested hammers too, but I havn't got the hang out of it yet. Even with Stonefist Gauntlets the knockdowns and the increased max damage don't seem to compensate for the slow attack rate and the fact that you can't use a shield. But that may be just me.

Same goes for axes really. If it's not Eviscerate + Executioner's Strike, it's an axe warrior most 'pro' people don't want on their team...

But swords doesn't need that exact combo due to the elite possibilities. Gladiator's Defense probably owns with a sword, since there are no efficient sword elites... Victory is Mine! etc.

I wouldn't have guessed you could stack these as they both set up waiting blocks (and return damage), interesting
