How was farming 'nerfed'? and where did this word come from? When did this happen?
I play for like 6 weeks, farm on griffons/minotaurs atm with W/Mo and get nice money and gold/purple drops so im happy. How was it before? Want to try UW/SF soon tho cos 2k-3k (not counting golds) per 30min(if nothing goes wrong) run isnt gonna get me money for top stuff anytime soon

The implementation of chests was the major "nerf" to the griffons/minotaurs farming - it almost eliminated any gold items dropping from those creatures.

here is a post just after the nerf so you get an idea.

Riverside was obviously the most well known and the one I hit first. I was one of the lucky ones that made it there in time to get ahead of the game.. I understand why they nerfed those giants since you could get like 50 runes an hour if you knew what you were doing...

The Definition of nerfed = To balance out skills, usually taking them effectively DOWN in terms of usefullness, IE: "They nerfed AOE's as the mobs don't stand in the radius anymore" <--Was actually an update to AI, they didn't even touch AOE's, it was just a negative effect that happened due to them wanting to "balance" stuff out.

Farming wasn't nerfed. The AI however was updated. Therefore; everyone took it as a "nerf" to "farming" when in fact it was an "update" to "ai" so that they don't stand around like idiots getting pummeled by firestorm or balths.

As for where/what to farm, use a new build in the same old areas, you'll be able to farm not as fast, but it's still doable. Highly in fact!

Not usually, but invariably. A balancing that makes something stronger is never referred to as a nerf.

It's still an indirect nerf to AOEs.

As to where the word comes from, it was first used by Ultima Online players after an update that weakened most weapons, leading to player complaints that their swords had been replaced by Nerf(tm) bats.

well i did so far like 15 runs on griffon/minotaur and i got 4 gold items and a ton of purple. Gold ones were brute sword, fiery dragon, battlepick and a halfmoon bow so i guess i was lucky? Chests on prophets only had purple stuff so far, i opened like 6-8 with keys monsters dropped.

Well obviously that was too much and for the good of the game it had to be cut. But im curious of the 'if you knew what were you doing'. What was that, could you affect what monster will drop or what
