The result of trying to avoid work....

I often find myself attempting to avoid work, and in doing so, I often just sit there and think about what sort of builds would be good in GW. These builds are probably pretty stupid/common and if that's the case, go ahead and flame if you like. If you see anything you like, please tell me that too, I certainly wouldn't mind knowing. Also, I haven't actually tried any of these builds, they're purely theoretical.

#1.
Class: Mesmer / Elementalist

This is not quite a spike build, seeing as it doesn't have enough in the way of high-damaging spells, but with a bunch of points in fast casting it should (theoretically) be able to keep casting nonstop for a significant period of time.

Skills:
1) Lightning Javelin
2) Lightning Orb
3) Lightning Strike
4) Air Attunement
5) Aura of Restoration
6) Ether Feast
7) Energy Drain (elite)
8) Inspired Hex

#2.
Class: Elementalist / Mesmer

A strange sort of build, with both sorta-kinda-spiker qualities, but also defensive skills as well. The idea was to have a build that would stay back and just launch attacks while maintaining a fairly high amount of armor (for an elementalist).

Skills:
1) Stone Daggers
2) Stoning
3) Obsidian Flame
4) Armor of Earth
5) Kinetic Armor
6) Earth Attunement
7) Energy Drain (elite)
8) Ether Feast

#3.
Class: Monk / Mesmer

My attempt at a pure protection monk. Seems to have some energy management problems though....

Skills:
1) Shield of Regeneration (elite)
2) Guardian
3) Reversal of Fortune
4) Divine Intervention
5) Inspired Hex
6) Mend Ailment
7) Blessed Aura
8) Rebirth

#4.
Class: Warrior / Monk

A fairly well-balanced (in my opinion) warrior/monk who doesn't use healing. Nothing really special about it.

Skills:
1) Final Thrust
2) Galrath Slash
3) Savage Slash
4) Deadly Riposte
5) Bonetti's Defense
6) Guardian
7) Shield of Regeneration (elite)
8) Resurrect

#5.
Class: Warrior / Monk

A knock-down/interrupt hammer warrior with smiting, mostly for Shield of Judgement. It probably wouldn't survive long without a monk though.

Skills:
1) Counter Blow
2) Staggering Blow
3) Belly Smash
4) Heavy Blow
5) Smite Hex
6) Dolyak Signet
7) Shield of Judgment (elite)
8) Resurrect

#6.
Class: Warrior / Elementalist

A build I made a while ago, so it lookds a bit strange to me right now. It would probably only be good in a one-on-one fight, and there aren't that many of those in this game so i dunno...

Skills:
1) Conjure Lightning
2) Glimmering Mark (elite)
3) Shock
4) Healing Signet
5) Bonetti's Defense
6) Riposte
7) Galrath Slash
8) Final Thrust

I'm going to take one of your builds to comment on, and leave the rest. I don't want to break up your build, so I will let you take the decisions, and only let you think on a couple of things:
Aura of Rest. : you are a mesmer/ele, not an ele/mesmer. How effective do you think Aura is?
Energy Drain: personally i'd go for Elemental Attunement...
you would get maybe 18 energy back from Energy Drain every 30 secs?
That means you would have to cast for 36 energy in 30 secs under Elemental Attunement. Me thinks that is not so hard.

Me/E is a great duel attunement class set up....as long as you dont get stripped. Fast Casting + ele = lol.

That Mesmer/Elementalist...

Replace Energy Drain with Elemental Attunement.
Replace Lightning Javelin with Enervating Charge.
Replace Aura of Restoration with Arcane Echo.

This way you can spam Lightning Orb like mad and also brought a nifty condition. If you bring a pal into it and let him go Dual Attunement -> Earth you can have some very nasty knockdown with Stoning. Most important rule, just don't bring exhaustion spell whatever you do.

8) Inspired Hex My old clan... WAY back, like in june/july or so ,used a mesmer nuker like this, 5 Mesmer/Ele and 3 Monks, it was the time when Air Elementalists were the hype.

However, as an elite we used elemental attunement with a 20% staff. And we added enervating charge, aswell as chain lightning. It's really quite good at spiking, because you dont have the charge time you usualy have.
