R/Mo High Damage Build ideas

Just about the only thing in this game that I'm shaky with is being a ranger. I need some build ideas to do MAX DMG, NOT SPIKE. I chose monk as my secondary because I heard Judges Insight adds boatloads of damage onto every attack. This is meant to be a PvE build, so please don't start with pvp builds, not interested.

What I got so far:

Tigers Fury
Ignite Arrows
Dual Shot
Judges Insight
??
??
??
No idea for an elite.

ermmm judges and ignite wouldnt work....as judges is physical damage while ignite is fire...thus itll be bez to get something else...like read the wind as a prep. instead of ignite arrows

I have tried incorporating Judge's Insight into my CA builds and this is what I was running only two days ago. I know you specifically mentioned PvE but you will probably face the same problems.

Dual Shot
Quick Shot
Savage Shot
RTW
Judge's Insight
Troll Unguent
Whirling Defense
Free Slot/Res Signet

The problems were, first of all, energy management. I had 10 points into Insight and it lasted for 16 seconds (for 10 energy), not only did I have to constantly reapply it but it was also a big drain on my energy pool. It has a 2s casting time if I remember correctly and in the heat of battle (PvE or PvP) that is a little too much, especially for a ranger.

The other problem was setting up the attribute points so that this would work effectively, I needed a full 18 second duration but that was unfortunately impossible with all the points that I needed to put into expertise.

The final issue was that the damage is not all that impressive. This was PvP, but I dont think you are going to get an appreciable (keeping the energy cost in mind) increase in damage. Preps and Spirits are easier to work with and do more damage. The only synergy that stands out (from a PvE point of view) would be Barrage + Insight. Conjure *Insert Element* would probably be much better considering that it lasts for a full minute with the same energy cost.

So Judges is a bad idea... too bad too cuz I already made my profession monk and theres not much else I can do with it other than -blah- heal... Ignite also not a good idea? Alright... well I'm still undecided what to do.

It might work with Barrage + Judge's Insight + Zealous Bowstring on a large group of enemies, say Ettin or Stone Summit. You'll recoup most of the energy cost, but this wont be until you actually cap Barrage.

Once you get marksman's wager (the first elite you normally cap for ranger), you can run a pretty good pve life bonder with ra/mo.

Alright... well I'm still undecided what to do. Take a look at Smite from the Smiting Prayers line. It has a 1 second attack time, like Quick Shot, and can be used by someone using a bow, since it is not specifically a "melee attack". It does a boatload of damage, if only every 10 seconds. Rangers have ways to get around recharges (Serpent's Quickness, Quickening Zephyr, Oath Shot, Determined Shot), and Smite is affected by Expertise, making it somewhat easy to run energy-wise. It'll cost the same as a Dual Shot. Don't count a R/Mo out for damage
