pickup item "bug" ??

I have not experienced this problem at all, but I have a guild mate that when we are partied up sometimes having problems picking up items after killing a creature.

Now before anyone jumps to conclusions: I know that while fighting the creatures apon death of said creature the system assigns the loot to one of the party members and only that member can pick it up. but sometimes even when its assigned to HIM he can't pick it up. he has to ask me to pick it up and drop it for him. even when we are not fighting beasties, we can just be walking along, he'll stoop to say pickup a item on the ground, maybe the pearl (quest item) and it won't let him, but it will let me.

anyways thought this was strange. it never happens to me, only him. sometimes I don't even fight with him and he still has this problem. anyone else see this?

I've had this and I honestly forgot the solution, it was a rather mundane fixing of the problem however, that is about all I can say, but, there is something simple to do. Plus, not really the place for this, since it isn't about a build discussion.
