So, I take it that this means that Faction Points are redeemable only for PvP usage...? That they are not a PvE game aspect???
What is the point, then, of showing them on my game character...? I for one have almost never PvP'd...
The reason I ask is that there seems to be a definite lack of information regarding this sort of thing. I mean, people like me, that only play the game on the story line side of things, have little to no idea of what relevance Faction and standing hold.
Or is the story line game simply a training grounds for PvP...? Why, then can't you develop a Character and then move them to PvP? Sorry to sound stupid...

Faction is only used to unlock Runes, Weapon Upgrades, and Skills to use on a PvP-only Character. You redeem faction at a Priest of Balthazar, all of whom are located in PvP arenas. So Faction is useless for someone who never makes PvP-only characters.
The story line is both a training ground for PvP and a game itself. Many players do PvP-only, many do PvE-only, but most do both. You can use a PvE character in PvP, just go to an Arena. However, I would say that you almost always want to create a PvP character if you want to PvP, since you'll have access to the best weapons in the game and more weapon upgrades, runes, and skills.
