I would really like some comments on specific primary/secondary combinations that are the most suited for solo PVE play
I have been told that W/MO works well, but I would really like some other combinations that have an advantage in this area. Are some of the casters well suited?
I have no interest in PvP whatsoever I get queasy at the thought of fighting other players. My boyfriend loves it, but I just do not like it at all. I just like to play against the environment. And since PvP is out of the equation, there have to be some more tailored for going it alone.
Note: I am going to make a group only healer too, but sometimes I cannot play long enough to get with a group and want a Soloable PVE character for this.
Thank you!!!

I personally have made 3 PVE characters, since I like to play purely solo to see just how skilled I am and am getting. I have a Warrior Necro, and that combination works very well, though of course there are some faults with it, like sometimes not having enough healing power to do what you need to do. Another combo I use is the Necro/Elementalist. The Necro Elementalist in my opinion is one of the best Solo combos. The necro's life drain spells keep you healed and deal damage while the elementalist spells do nice single and aoe damage. And finally I have a ranger elementalist. This, from what I've read, is supposedly the best Solo combo there is. The ranger can heal themselves and do nice damage alone, and with elementalist spells backing their skills their damage is amplified greatly. HOpe this all helps some and if you need someone to adventure with just let me know =)

However, after a certain point in the game, I'd say even as early as some of the Piken quests, soloing is not really viable anymore 100% of the time. The least you can do is take at least a healer because the Charr, especially Stalkers, can blow away your health so fast that even a dedicated monk would have trouble keeping up.

Thank you Elvisman2001, KiegeKiamora, and Eclair for the replies!
Even though soloing the late game is difficult or a chore, I would like to find a combination that is as good as possible PVE. Something that would work with an occasional henchman supplement, I suppose.
So of the three, you two have mentioned, which combination is more tailored to PVE solo and why (remembering late game requirements)?
Mezmer/Warrior
Necromancer/Elementalist
Ranger/Elementalist

an alpha tester who has soloed extensively suggested ranger/monk to me
he has soloed at least to lions arch without using henchmen

I`m using a W/M and don`t solo - solo, I almost always drag along a healer henchman. I not up to speed enough to tell you any reasons why one class is better than the other but with a Warrior, sprint is your friend. When I do solo I can go in and kill one monster and if things get too tough, turn and sprint, heal and go in to kill another. Also run serpentine Shell.

The most powerful PvE character I ever made was an Ele/Mes I mainly used E spells but the Mesmer spells Energy Burn stuff like that really helped too. ^_^

Thank you for the comments, Loviatar, Whaleman, and Sir Monroe.
So many opinions! I really have no idea which way to turn. I just do not want to spend a long time on a character and find that I have made rather a mess of things
Is there a repository of solid builds that I can look at? I have no idea how to plan these characters out. Maybe I can use a template that someone else has come up with and build the character in the PvP character creation thingy to see if I like the skills and such?
Eeeeek! This is all too confusing. Thank you for the information though.

Once you get a hold of some ranged necro spells/skills (ie Vampiric Gaze), you can do some real damage

You really cant solo the game to far, eventually you will need to pick up henchmen to get through areas (lions arch is only 3/7 way through the game, and soloing past that is pretty tough, if not downright impossible without henchmen....). If you mean soloing with henchmen then it doesnt matter so much.
