GeForce FX 5500 Drivers problem

I just recently buaght a MAXIMUM PC magizine that came with the newest nVIDIA driviers in it. Well, I downloaded the drivers from the CD, and now when I open up my inventory, the game wont freeze, but the inventory window will. My charcter wont show, but his bow will. The icons for the items wont show, but the numbers of the stack will. The CD also came with a program that erases all video card drivers from my PC. So, should I do that and install the older drivers (66. something I believe, and the new one was 71. something)? Or is there another fix?

Also, I do not play on max graphics settings.

Edit: That uninstall program is for ATI cards only.

I already went and installed the old drivers over my new drivers, but now my nVIDIA icon wont show up in my taskbar (next to the time). Is this bad? I don't know what Im doing, someone help please

Use the program that erase the video drivers, reboot system, load new 71.89 drivers, reboot system, try game. it is recommended to use a program like detanator destroyer or something when upgrading graphics drivers as installing new ones over old ones tend to leave tidbits of the old ones behind. Therefore causing errors.
