Idea for change on monk!
Retribution X
ok, here's my idea.
My monk has a attack kata dance right, well, why can't we have a martial arts style in the monk? i mean like, new armor, drops the extra energy, +4 regen and it has 75 al, we can dual wield katana's, and staffs that are melee. now, wouldn't that be fun?
Well, why not?

Well, I'd have to say my female elementalist is adept at shaking her boobs. I think she gets a boob slap attack.

My ranger is a good hooker. Maybe she can seduce men(and creatures into a lull.

Hey! I got a great idea for a new ability!
For female characters only:
For every article of armor you remove, male characters are unable to move from 1..3 seconds. Attribute: attractiveness of your character.
15 E, 0 Cast, 15 recharge.

We are talking about monk here. NOT anything else... note! this is somthing real! the monk uses a REAL kata! it SHOWS he knows martial arts! AND it's useful.
That's my point.

absolutely wonderful idea. ive always wondered why the monk seems to be the pacifist healer character, when in reality the majority of monks are trained in martial arts.

as for dual katanas, thats a little unrealistic. it would probably be best to keep warriors as the main sword wielding class. i would sway more toward the melee staff or hand-to-hand combat

Hey, don't blame me. You're the one that said "Well, why not?" And the last time I checked, the Smiting line isn't "pacifist healing."
Retribution X
i'm not, just some of the above posts were, well, about other topics...
You are right, but we mean in melee.

Your'e idea should be a seperate class altogether. Monks are fine as they are, they are very holy, they heal and of course smite. They are fine healing and making them do damage with hand to hand and all that is really out of it's theme. You probably see monks as the 'martial artist' type since thats what everyone is accustomed to in every other game out there. Clerics are probably the more well known term for healers but calling healers as monk isn't wrong. So I guess it's a matter of adding a new class rather than changing one.

no, i don't play ANY other RPG's, but they have the partial scripts on the game already. the monk OBVIOUSLY knows martial arts, just why can't we use them.

Although I do agree that I would like to see the monk class gain some more offensive style skills. Its truly not in the heart of the class and is generally better off with a concise style of skills.
