Last week I ascended my Warrior. He got 20 000 XP by killing the guy in Augury Rock.

Just now my Ranger got 50 000 XP for killing him

I used this scroll just as we started the fight:


Whether this had an affect or not I dont know. Or whether Rangers getb this ammount of XP by default.

Either way I am one happy bunneh because I went from level 16 and 95% percent to level 20 and about 1/3rd of the way toa skill point!!!!

game updates 15 June:
# Changed the XP reward for ascension. Previously, when a character ascended, he was automatically advanced to level 20, regardless of his current level. This meant that characters who had already advanced to level 20 prior to ascension received no reward for ascending. Now, ascension gives a fixed reward of 50,000 XP.

When I ascended at lvl 4 a couple of weeks after the game came out it was something nuts like 168034 exp or something. Good thing they changed that.

Notice how the scroll says "from combat". The 50k exp you get isn't from killing the doppleganger, it's from the mission itself.

i noticed this to ... after kicking the living shi...daylights out of my double i got 50k xp ! almost spat my coffee out ! also i got a blue sickle as an unclaimed mission item afterwards

Just out of curiousity what is the lowest possible level you can ascend at and still get lvl 20?

140000-50000=(suprisingely) 90000 --- or I am at maths

So from 90000 XP on you become lvl 20 after ascencion.
Don't know the level though.

I ascended two characters last week, both were just past level 14. After beating the dopplle and getting the 50K, both were just shy of level 20. 3 to 5K or so.

It'd probably be too easy if you could ascend w/a level 1. Hmm... I should try to ascend my level 7 mesmer who is in the Crystal Desert right now collecting armor. If only Thirsty and Dune could be "ran"...

I've heard you have to be at least level 16.5 to make level 20 from the 50k XP.

You do NOT get 100k for getting bonus too (that would be 50k from mission, 50k from bonus).

I have a couple guildies that solo Thirsty as well. And Dunes can be done with henchies at an early level. I did it at level 14 with a level 7 along and nothing but henchies.
