Character Profession Poll #2

Well, I must ask this question again with new info. though. For teh next BWE is drawing very near. Well, I have learned, by playing Champions of Norrath: Realms of EverQuest on my PS2(said aint it?) that I love the Ranger. So, my new Choices are added to this poll. For those of you older Gurus you rememebr my last poll. Please let me know what you chsoe and why. Thank you.

Background information: I have fallen in love with the mesmer profession and would like to include that in my choice of character. I cannot choose between Elementalist, or Warrior. (And now Ranger.) Which would be good and please lsit the ups and downs of your decision. Thanks alot. I want to have a fun time.

Also, would a Ranger/Mesmer or vice versa bee a good choice? Could you guys tell me ups and downs?

Basicly could you guys tell me why the choices I am trying to decide on are good and bad? I am trying to see which one would best be in my nterest. Thanks guys.

Okaaaaaaay, SO what type of player ore you, distance fighter, support, into the fray? What ore you playing on the other Games?

i've yet to play any of the combinations you listed, so i have no first hand knowledge about the pros and cons.

IMO it really doesnt matter which of the liisted you choose, since all the professions are balanced. it all comes down tou your preference, so just pick what seems cool really

suggestion

take the 4 top builds you think would be the most [SIZE=4][COLOR=Red]FUN[/COLOR][/SIZE] to play and try those combinations out using the level 20 role playing characters that started off in lions arch last time

take them out into the wilds for a few hours and see how it does

repeat with the others

if one works much better than the others for you that gives some idea where to start and have fun doing it

Well, it goes either way. But I mostly play close up. I do enjoy being a supporter...

Hmm I am thinking a mesmer and ranger combo.. but what is better pimary?

[SIZE=7]WARRIOR/MESMER![/SIZE] lol this is my favorite skill, you can take down casters easy, and anything else. its easy for beginers (cause it was easy for me) but like i say for everything else, its really a matter of personal oppinion

Well, I don't want too easy. I want fun. Not O.K. easyy. THat sucks and is lame. Ranger/mesmer sounds inteeresting. AND fun. But Warrior looks cool too.. I don't know... hmmmm

I was thinking Warrior/Monk for my own bad self since I usually prefer to either tank for others or hold back and heal/support. This heavily depends, naturally, on what all I find in the game, of course, since I may find that neither is half as fun as, say, Ranger/Mesmer or something. Heck, I dunno. I'm kinda hoping that a player can have multiple characters per profile, so I can experiment without having to start from scratch all the time.

In any case I see a lot of "Hulk Smash" behaviour in my future.

If you want to do close up battles This is the better choice, which may help for the tutorial (Pre-Searing) Section of the game. Personally while I was trying to figure out the controls etc. I didn’t want to join a party, I wanted to travel at my own pace.

[COLOR=DarkRed]Mesmer/Warrior[/COLOR]
Better for distance attacks; with a close combat backup.

[COLOR=Purple]Elementalist/Mesmer[/COLOR]
Basically the same either way, you’re a caster with strong casting abilities you have to have a good reserve of energy, This can be mixed up with whatever type of casts that you want, ie Support or Damage.

[COLOR=Green]Ranger/Mesmer[/COLOR]
Same thing either way, you’re kind of useless close up and but can deal out some real damage from any distance. You’re not as dependant on energy because of you Ranger skills, so you can be out of Energy but still deal some decent damage (having it as a primary you’ll be less dependant on energy)

Well, I think you tried to say something abotu the oppostite of a Rang/Mes, a mes/Range. What did you mean?

OK, i am between Elementalist/Mes and Ranger/Mes...

I mean:
It doesn't matter which you put first as both are better for distance attacks. Basically Mesmer/Ranger is (typically) more dependant on Energy, and has more powerful Magic attacks. A Ranger/Mesmer is less dependant on Energy and rely more heavily on physical attacks (more dependant on what weapons you buy/get/trade for etc.)
