More sword Adrenal/energy skills!!!
Retribution X
There needs to be more sword skills, 9 is pretty lame...
Some ideas for new skills are welcome, i'm looking in the dictonary for some nice names for them.
New Sword skills ideas.
Spinning Slash
Preform a spinning slash dealing +X dmg to all adjacent foes
Lacerate (Elite)
This attack deals +X damage to target foe and target foe is knocked down. this skill cannot be blocked or evaded. this is an elite skill.
50% chance of failure with less than 6 swordsmanship

i think the weapon attacks are more than enough.
you have swords, that have conditions.
axes, which have spike damage.
hammers, which have knockdowns.
you take 2/3/4 attack skills, a res, and the rest is filled with strengh/tactics/sec prof skills.
thats my opinion anyway.

yes, but, for pve vs some things (EX: Jade), conditions a practally useless. only <6 skills that can be used. what i mean we need, is a DAMAGE dealing low adrenal sword attack.
For PvE, the practally ONLY useful skills for a 56k internet connections (interrupts are useless), are, galrath slash, final thrust, and power attack.
if your secondary is a Monk, or Ele, the energy cost is too high, and we need a low cost adrenal skill useful for PvE. (cleave in axe is an example of a low adrenal cost skill)
In PvP, swords are MUCH more useful, but i mean in PvE.
Basicly, what i'm talking about is we need an elite low adrenal sword attack for PvE. WHen fighting Jade & undead & forgotten, Hamstring is useless, Sever Artery is useless, gash is useless, savage slash is near useless, and Hundred blades is a pain in the butt to get.

actually, i don't see many in PvP use axes, but that's just me. Swords have A better skill, and an E/W with conjure element, prefer hundred blades over axes.
I've NEVER seen a warrior secondary use axes...
My war uses swords in PvP, he can win somtimes...

sword skills are fine, they have more good energy skills than axe (for ex. within 8 sec, you can run Seeking blade twice and Pure Strike once) and some nice tactic adrenaline skills like Riposte. Sever artery works very well with necro elite skill Virulence. Sever artery/gash works well with elite Victory Is Mine. Flourish is another warrior elite tailored for sword warriors using energy attacks. Zealous sword hilt is a must-have for a high damage sword warrior.
It's hammer skills that need a little more buff imho. Their adranline costs are high, and with slow attack speed and lack of shield just don't compensate for that little extra damage. Sure they have knockdown, but regular knockdown skills are either conditional (like someone has to be attacking) or will lose all of your adrenaline. This is why fewer warriors use hammers because if you add them up, more negatives than positives.

I'd honestly rather have more earth skills. The attack skills are cool, like obsidian flame and aftershock and stuff. But I'm an earth ele...I should be able to crack a hole in the ground, or affect gravity and make your ass levatate Just seems like elementalists are all based on their skills and because of the AoE update they seem to be taking the shaft. I dunno... warriors are the backbone not the damage dealers usually

How about...no.
9 skills is NOT too little.
There's SUPPOSED to be a difference between the different weapons. Spinning attack is a sword version of cyclone axe. Lacerate is also overpowered.
Evidently, you don't pvp much. The majority of warriors outside of Shiverpeak and Ascalon Arenas use axe.
No one in this game said you have to use swords against the Jades, undead, etc. You can switch to a different weapon, or just non-condition attacks. It's not the game's fault that you can't use interrupts, there's no reason to change the number of attacks in the game just because you can't use certain skills.

if anything axes could use more attacks they have less as far as i know anyway
Lexar
The spinning sword skill has to be added just for the sake of completeness. Zelda had that move back in the 80's, and countless other games have had it since then, but not guildwars...
Don't forget, ripostes are only available to sword users, so you can basically add two more, but their usefullness is so-so in anything but a tanking role.
Final thrust is not as good as people think it is. In a typical fight it will just sit there in your bar and be used maybe once or twice at most, if you use it correctly. If you took an energy skill you could have used it more often, and probably have done more damage. No, instead, the big advantage for sword users is that the conditions and interrupts don't need to be charged up with adrenaline, making sword warriors better for interrupting, and crippling the adversary with the first hit, if they have the energy to back it up, of course.

For me, I love swords for status effects in PVP. I do great, as spike damage with axe really isn't needed when my warrior isn't covered in mass groups.
Other then that, I go hammer for knockdowns/keeping casters at bay.
Oh yeah, and in PVE, I'm always usually Axe, so I'm sorta biased towards axe anyways ^_- but each weapon type can own in PVP depending on where you are/what build you're using!

well, i'm talking about balence. axes ARE ok, but, i see more ppl wielding swords.
it's not JUST me, i CAN use interrupts, but WTH good is savage vs a jade?(other than interrupt)
The sword is VERY popular, as it is NOT a classic RPG weapon, due to inbalence, GW is baleced in pretty much every other aspect... so, someone who trained as a sword warrior should change their char to axe in the southern shiverpeaks because of jade?
