Is it just me or does it really suck that canes/wands, and truncheons (not sure of last one) have no upgrade components to use? As a me/n I pretty much rely on canes for my bonuses. I'm still using the cane I found in ruins of surmia because I haven't found a good cane yet. Perhaps wrappings like the staff could be used. Or for canes the head of the cane(not sure what's called) for upgrade components. If anyone has any other ideas please feel free to ask.
(And if for some reason that there are some hidden/ or that it is coming already please feel free to disregard this post)

Indeed, add crystals for the top (elemental damage, increased effect duration) and just wrappings or such for the other portion of it. Odd that they didn't include it already. At least, I haven't seen any, but, you think you might have noted one along the way.

Agreed. I would like more upgrades. Even if they just change the look! Customization!!
