Guild Wars not opening

During the last beta i could open up guild wars and started the first download. For some reason it shut me out and i am unable to play it even though i have created a character. Maybe my windows 2000 can't met the requirements but now every time i open guild wars it becomes an icon on the bottom of the screen and if i hit control+alt+delete it is running but i can't open the game up and it just stays as an icon at the bottom of the screen.
