Ranger and Armor

ok i tried and tried and still no matter how hard i cant get no more than 10k a week usually less than that but... anyways i cant get ANY gold from farming or helping ppl or doing anything.... adn i think rangers could have it better with weapons... like a whip for beast mastery and a special pair of weapons/offhands for wilderness survival..... cuz all the other classes have stuff that benefit... rangers get one... a bow 2 mods... warriors get a 1 hand and a shield.... 2 mods and somethin else... casters get a wand rod and an offhand... why about rangers? nothing to help thier cast rate of skills or anything..... and i want 15k armor for my ranger but i cant get ANY GOLD AT ALL no matter how hard i try....i cant make ANY runs anymore for money.... pals in my guild are also broke...

Dude, this forum isn't for COMPLAINING!, jeez, bow's kinda are hard to get as a one handed item...

My only suggestion is change classes if you hate two handed bows that much. Other classes (Necro, Elementalist, Monk Smitter) can also do ranged damage, and as you said, have one handed weapons. Remember though, you CANNOT modify wands - whatever stats you get on it is what your stuck with. Same with Foci and Shields. You'll most likely end up using a two handed weapon with a Ele, Necro, or Monk, since those are the only weapons that can be modded.

A Warrior however, can modify his weapon, but again, not his shield. But Warriors dont do ranged dmg, so the mods are put in to make up for it.

Good luck making money nowadays. I'd suggest sticking with Droknar's armor until the expansion, unless you already have a surplus of cash.

I have a ranger but i never thought of farming wih him even though i know you can.

You are not limited to one character, i built a warrior just for farming to gain cash and items for my main monk character(as monk's get boned drop wise imo).

Get yourself a warrior rush through to the desert and start the grind.

Rangers do more damage per hit in most cases and expertise is probably one of the best attribute types in the game over 60% of the skill cost gone at high levels.

umm, ~33% @ lvl 16 expertise as a correction.

But yeah, rangers do deal more dmg...

Isn't it 4% per point in expertise?
4% * 16 = 64%

Dude, my first charac was a ranger and I like him. Getting cash isn't so hard, try to use traps in the dessert ( go out alone ofcourse ). You'll make loads of money.
I have two 15k sets and money to spend, bought stormbows and all that with my ranger, just go in sf and UW stuff like that, It's not so hard just try to make a good trap farming build.

The point about a wilderness survival weapon is good, It would be great to have combat knife or something like that. The armor is really good, don't know why you don't like it, I mean the +30arm against elemental dmg, thats alot dude.

i have 4 characters (monk-warrior-necro-ranger)

the most 1 i like to use for farming is the ranger.

2 month ago i had 0 gold but now i have 100k+ and everyday i get 20k+ if i go farming.

This is what I do:

1. Go to Deldrimor War Camp
2. Get Mhenlo, Eve, Cynn and Lina
3. Go to Grenths Footprint, kill some bosses and to go the Soffow Furnace
4. Kill everything, but dont lure multiple groups in 1 fight
5. Get green items if you're lucky
6. Too much DP or full inventory? Go back to War Camp and repeat

Rangers not farm???? No worries here ya go. Go with a barage interupt Ranger and like the above poster mention Devona Menlo and Lena...(or drop Devona and grab an MM might be slow at first but when they get going WOW just remember that Winnowing helps feinds but FW does not) Or use a spike interupt build with the same above setup. Out side of this you can join a trapper group going into the UW... though unless your looking for something particular there IMHO you get more bang for your buck just sticking with SF and GF. If your looking for something in particular to suit your individuale needs I would need to know more about how you play since farming is ok but I for one like to at least enjoy it at the same time. Clearing SF with 5 plp with no quests nets a tidy little sum about 3k per run.... then you might get lucky and get some green or even gold armor drops. If I can help out further with explanation pls dont hesitate to ask.

i can get about a 1kin in half an hour if i solo farm griffons with my ranger. all u need is all the traps, serpents quickness, troll ungent, whirling defence, and storm chaser. and about 13 in wilderness survival, which is nothing really.

leave augary rock as if u are going to the dunes, and then simply place all ur traps in the same place.

u do serpents quickness, spike trap, dust trap, flame, barbed, spike, flame, dust, and then go on. cast serpents quickness as soon as it runs out. that way u know that when serpents quickness recharges for the second time u have about 2 secs b4 ur first trap goes off. make sure u have 4 dust traps down, and that u spike has recharged and then lure them. when they fall on the traps quickly put down another spike trap in the same place. they will try to run from the aoe, but will get kncoked down again. in this way i have killed4 in one trap, om my own. they usually travel in packs of three, and the first 2 are lured, the third one hangs back until u kill the others. the third one is no prob. u can tale one griffon down with ur traps without too much trouble simply by crippling them, and then running, placing some traps, w8ing, place some more etc. it easy peasy. i do it with no markmanship, but 13 in wilderness, and another 13 in expertise

Ok I know this is about rangers but if any of you can do this it makes about 5k in around an hour...depending on drops. Mo/E 55 build Aftershock Crystal wave and SoJ the Hydras outside of Augery rock... Im working on fine tuning the build but as of yet I havent found a better combo... the points I dont remember as I am not at home at the moment... just play around with them get the numbers so you do desent dmg without sacificing to much in Prot and make sure you leave healing up at 13 for the +4 mending for those that dont know the rest you need prot spirit and healing breaze also need balthazars spirit and essence bond.... well happy hunting and good luck in your money making ventures.

rangers cant farm easly, but with the right combo they can!
if i farm i always use, poison arrow, distracting shot, ignite arrows, lightning reflexes, mending (if you are ranger/monk), troll unquent, and rebirth if you are in a party id not, i use another healing skill, it realy works! (atleast for me..)

I farm trolls in shiverpeaks just for skill points so I can buy skills. I also get a lot of gold with the items they drop. It's easy to do it as a trapper.

This isn't a forum for complaining about money problems in GW. Next time use the search feature to see if there have been any other threads complaining about things like this. I suppose if you did, they'd all be locked as well, but that should give you some idea as to what I'm getting to...
