Defenders of Rillanon

W/Mo

Axe Mastery: 9
Tactics: 12
Expertise: 10+2
Wilderness Survival: 4+1

I use the all-present and utilitarian Druids; there is no need for elemental resistance here.

Cyclone Axe
Healing Signet
Troll Unguent
Escape {E}/Gladiators Defense {E}(Damage at the cost of duration)
Whirling Defense
Shield Stance
Skill of Choice/Lightning Reflexes (Keep in mind this is when you forgoe Gladiators Defence.)
Apply Poison

Damage: mediocre, but something like 2+10+8=20 dps, without accounting Glad's and Whirling Def. Throw those in, and you have decent damage.

What to do: cycle your stances, remember not to mash 2 down at once, and spam poisoned Cyclone Axe.

First of all, this build can handle Attaxe in the UW, but you will need at least a Grognar's Shield (2 absorption, 45 health in a stance -which is, of course, the essence of this build), as well an excess of health (Superior Vigor rune, Fortitude/Defence upgrade) and a way to produce Weakness on said Attaxe. That is, Axe Twist, the only possible solution for a R/W. Even with these measures, however, I have had my ranger slaughtered like nothing; this is of course another danger of 75% evade tactics. If you want safety, rework this, add blind, and THEN enfeeble so you don't get hit before you can enfeeble. You will also need to spam Healing Signet Prodigiously, and cautiously renew Weakness. Also, if you want the UW, take that major rune off and replace it with a point from Tactics and a minor rune.

Now, for more casual farming, try a number of targets. Preferable and foremost are areas with Ranged and Melee monsters, to set off Glad's/Whirling, as well as places without Muursat (Wild Blow=death), and general mass degen. So... Griffons, Grawl, Ettin, etc. are fair game.

Congragulations and awe go to ReZo of GWonline, who introduced a version of this (we did not, at the time, believe you could maintain evade stances 100% of the time) to me, as well as a great number of people.

Now, in my haste, I forgot to cycle stances properly. Which brings me to: Use 60 second recharge skills first, then 45 sec, then 30, and then 20 (glad's def, if you use it). Otherwise, you'll be leaving gaps in which you need to wait longer for 60 second recharge skills. And please don't think this build involves losing half your life to kill a few griffons; It comes of being reckless/distracted.

Again, this afternoon, I recieved the dubious honor of having someone request a picture where you could actually see my ranger.
So, here:
