Elemental damage, why?
MCS
I was just wondering, why would someone want, say, a fiery dragon sword with 15-22 damage over a plain dragon sword with 15-22.

Fire weapons can be used with the ability "Conjure Flame" to increase the amount of damage done per hit.

Is that the only reason? o.O

It also does Fire damage, which would ignore some armor bonuses that say (+x AL vs. physical damage). If you know your enemy is going to be heavily decked out in such armor, it would be nice to be able to get around some of his/her bonuses.

Ah, it ignores the phys armor. Well theres a reason I was looking for. Thanks.
Anyone know how armor is like factored in though?
Also like armor adds up? Like you've got 5 pieces of armor 80 armor each thats 400 armor?

It doesn't really ignore armor. An elemental weapon is still affected by the base armor.
So for example, lets say I have Knights armor 80 + 20phy, that means I have armor 100 against a plain sword, but only 80 against the fire sword.
And no, armor doesn't stack. Because GW uses a detection mechanism that determines where you are getting hit. So if you have a torso armor that is armor 80, but boots that are only 60 armor. Then if you get hit in the feet, you feel more pain.

Okay I SO never knew that.
It doesn't sound like it would be THAT great of a mod then.

I think most people want dragon sword just wants to look 133t. Unless they are W/E and decide to use Conjure Flame with it. Conjure IMO is not that good a spell...the damage you get from it is very little compared to the amount of attribute points you have to put into it.
For an elementalist though, conjure would actually work well. Cuz a max conjure with a wand does pretty much the same damage as Flare....so its useful in those cases.
