I've recently been trying to come up with a good IW build. So I've needed to look at various things as to how to buff the enchant and such.
I've decided on either Water or Earth magic as a good buff and defensive system.
Now however, one skill is all that tips the scales one way or the other, but I dont have the equipment I require to test this out. I need to know if anyone would be willing to test this for me, or has in the past to see if it works.
The question is this. Even though IW cancels out melee damage, the strikes of the weapon still hit, thus will Conjure Frost activate upon each strike? But as I have no Icy weapon of which to speak of, I cant go into PVP and test this for myself.
What is needed:
Icy Warrior weapon of some kind.
Casting Conjure Frost first
The casting IW.
IF it works, it could be a whole new style of IW builds. If it doesnt, oh well, onto Earth Magic.

conjure won't work i believe.
for an IW mesmer, what you need to increase your damage output is:
a stance to increase your attack speed
something to stop your enemy from running away
a cover enchantment to make sure your IW doesn't get stripped
by following this, a Me/W or Me/R does the highest damage output, by having stances that increase running speed or attack speed. Personally i've always relied on Illusion of Haste and Imagined burden and using Flurry/Tiger's Fury for maximum effectiveness.
If you're going Me/E or an E/Me as an IW mesmer, first you must know that your IW damage output will be 3/4 (and much less with only 12 illusion as an E/me) effective as a Me/W or Me/R. You will be mainly defensive casting wards or doing damage while slowing down enemies.

Oh, I know all that. Its just a matter of will it work or not.
If you read the descriptions of both of them, it doesnt say IW makes you miss your attacks, its just you dont do any damage. And Conjure says that it simply tacts on more damage when you attack. So as long as the attack connects, it should apply the damage.

Conjure doesnt work unless they changed it in a recent patch.
