My Mesmer/Monk Level 10 Ascalon Arena Spiker
AnewtypeofSpiker?
I'm not quite sure if there's another build like this out there at the moment, or one for level 10's who have the cash flow and/or friend/guildies to help then get to certain places and capture certain elites, but anyways, here goes.
My Mesmer/Monk, was originally a shutdown mesmer, even at low levels, when I made her, I asked for opinions on sucessful mesmer builds, someone said a fastcasting smiter was uber, I thought them pretty retarded. Not liking to take most secondary profession skills over my primary ones, but MAN was I wrong.
I tried to make my own Me/Mo FastSmiter build once I was 10, I went and capped Signet of Judgement first of all. I had on my skill bar the following: Smite, Banish, Holy Strike, Bane Signet, Signet of Judgement, Symbol of Wrath, Balthazar's Aura, and Hex Breaker. My attributes were 3 in Fast Casting(+1 from Sleek Mask, and an additional +3 from a Superior Rune of Fast Casting in the mask), 8 in Smiting Prayers, and 1 in Domination.
I thought the Fastcasting Smiter idea was a stupid one at first simply because the heavier damage dealing smiting spells/skills have a 3/4-1 second cast time to begin with, I thought, 'Hell, JUST a smiter could be just as good lol', "AHAHAHA" at myself now, lol.
I had on Enchanter's Armor from Droknar's Forge, and the Smiting Rod from Droknar's Forge from the Collector there, with a Vokur's Chakram (for the recharge/fastercasting), which brought my energy to a grand total of 40-45.
Which was definitely a good thing considering the cost of Balthazar's Aura. Anyways, I'd enter the arena, people thinking me either a stupid mesmer with crappy smiting skills/attributes and a crappy weapon. HAHAHA.. lol, I would run up to a caster, ranger, or other non-warrior (my personal preference), hit banish, signet of judgement, Holy Strike (doubles damage if target foe is knocked down), and then Smite (adds quite a bit of damage if they were attacking) Keep in bind that Holy Strike is actually a SKILL, but casts very fast anyway, so it really doesn't matter that Fast Casting doesn't affect it. You could also switch out the use of Signet of Judgement for Bane Signet, if they are attacked that is, and save SoJ (Signet of Judgement) for when someone tries the resurrect the person you just gangraped .
If someone notices you are this powerful already, and it's a warrior, or someone that uses melee as their primary, turn on Symbol of Wrath, if they don't stop attacking you, throw on Balthazar's Aura, and watch them take around 40 damage a second for 5 seconds and then about 20 damage a second for 5 more seconds. If they aren't dead, or have been healed, simply own them with the previous used FastSmiting skills. Oh yeah, Hex Breaker.. if you are Backfired by a 10 Mesmer (should have 9-13 Domination Magic if Sup. Rune) and you consecutively use the 3-4, or even 6 if multiple people/warriors are on you, you will undeniably get OWNED. Therefore, hold control before the start of game, if there's a Mesmer, you're lucky you brought Hex Breaker, if not, of well, there's other classes that cast Hexes out there right ? Stand your ground like most others do in the beginning of a match, and if you see Mesmer casting Backfire, instantly use the Hex Breaker stance WAY before they finish casting, and if they weren't casting it on YOU, better safe than sorry I always say. So not only do you repel the Backfire, but they take a little damage as well, (with 1 Domination+1 from a Minor Rune of Domination Magic) they take around 35 damage.
With no maintained enchantments, and around 45 Energy, you have PLENTY to spam the FastSmites, keep Warriors at bay, and keep off those horrid, nasty Hexes.
Please try this out and/or leave notes/comments on my build, my first team I tried this build with consisted of a level 9 Pure Healer, and 2 Illusionary Weaponry Mesmer/Warriors with crap longswords+Flurry, one was level 6, and one was 8, I was 10 at the time. We faced a team that someone on our team said had about 15 wins and owned all, they had an 11 W/Mo, a 10 Mo/R, a 6 Me/E, and an 8 E/Mo, we owned them in.. oh, let's just give the exact time.. "Elapsed Time: 23 Seconds" , they were amazed, and hell, frankly, so were we heh. We had 20 consecutive wins, we probably could have had over 100, but well, my damned food was here and was getting cold.. God damned food.. lol. Alright, I'm out
P.S. also, tell me if you've ever seen anyone like this or seen another post like this. (keep in mind, mine is level TEN.. eleven now, not 20 with 200 attributes :P)

Yay. Another level 10 twinkie. People like you make me sick.
Aslo, learn to use some spacing. But after reading level 10 and SoJ, it's just crap anyway.

Ahhh.. I forgot, there's always those assholes out there who can't afford things like we twinks have, so they flame us and envy us and such. Get an ascended level 20 and solo the UnderWorld, newb.

Reminds me of the good old LLD101 days in diablo ii.. *sighs and looks out the window longingly*
If only the game was somehow able to balance a level 10 in level 20 arenas.. oh, would I be happy.

Lol, many of us out there can afford the same thing but just that most of us do not have the stomach for such a pathetic act (which obviously feeds your sadistic mentality).
Besides, its pointless anyway, no challenge = no fun.

Yeah, it violates the spirit of the Ascalon Arena. Goody for you, you have a winning streak in an area full of new players. Whoopdee-do. I figure people like you play there because you suck too badly to play where the real players are.
Please Anet, fix it so twinking is impossible. Players like this make the game less friendly for new players brave enough to try PvP - if you want to encourage PvP make it fun and profitable, not filled with jerks.

Can't afford? You are so full of shit it's beyond belief.
FWIW, I have 7 character that have copletely beaten the game, the last one at THK, and just purchased a third account to experiment with different class combinations.
It's not about affordability, it's abut not being totally lame and having to prey on newbs giving the PvP their first taste. You're the most despicable type of player in the game. You're actually proud of being lame. Amazing!

Gross personal opinion: If you don't like the people doing it...its really not them you dont like - its Anet for acting like its fair they do it.
he isn't "Exploiting" anything - Anet has said before in interviews ands uch that they MEANT for running and such to be a big part of the game, gives somethign to do for pvE's that have played the game throguh a few times.

I don't think it's the running that the people posting here have a problem with. The debate on running is on-going, arduous, and very divided. But that isn't what this thread is about. These people are angry about someone who takes a very obviously unfair advantage against new PvP players and then brags about it.
Yes, ANet should fix this. But until then, just expect every person that brags about something so cowardly to get flamed to all heck.

Ganking beginner players by basically cheating (using Droknars armor & elite skills like Signet of Judgment and Illusionary Weapon in Ascalon arena), is "not exploiting", it's "somethign to do for pvE's that have played the game throguh a few times" (sic)?
LOL! Yeah, whatever. I'd *like* to say something about the obviously minute size of your genitalia, but that would get this post deleted, and it would be a shame if I didn't get to say that I think one have to be pretty gosh darn dumb to post a build to grief beginner players in the low-level arenas.

I'd like to ask, have you ever fought against a twinked out Warrior in the Ascalon Arena? It's one of the most disheartening things when your whole team throws damage at him (or her) and it does nothing at all. It's not fair.
Same principle goes for this.
If you were to face this build, how would you feel?

Oh wait - this moron (and people like him) scare them off by the truckload.

Real smart numnuts... Well, that's entirely ANet's fault. And I blame them. They can stop this stuff, but haven't. They can encourage players to play PvP, but they haven't.
All those people out farming for fur, or steel, or runes or neat weapons in PvE? They could all be playing some PvP to get stuff. You could implement a reward system that allows you to trade faction-like points for crafting materials, gold, real PvE gear and so on. You could have a chest every so many wins and such. Enemy players could drop loot for you, more loot depending on how many wins they had. Instead of Joe Schmoe running out to solo farm griffins all night, which benefits nobody really but Joe Schmoe he could be in the RA (TA too) farming - if it produced drops as good as griffons did. If farming in arenas was a lucrative business how much more PvP woud there be? Make it rewarding at each level, make it so that when a player wants money/experience/gear they PvP, not grind in PvE. Sure, leave PvE as potentially profitable, for those that like that kind of grind, but if arenas were profitable farming I suspect you'd see more people trying it. And make it so that they get rewards just for trying it! New players get automatic drops after a fight! Even losing in PvP pays off, for a new character!
As for the bullies who twink, then fight in Ascalon/Yak's? Disgusting that it is allowed, and it frightens people away from (IMO) the best part of this game. I personally think there should be SO much more PvP content withing PvE. There should be missions in which the other team is also players; there should be missions in which you have toplay a PvP style battle more often, or new skill quests to go into an arena and win X fights, or similar activities.
Get people playing PvP ANet. Make it fun, make it fair, make it rewarding and they'll come. You don't like that people farm like crazy? Make arenas profitable, they'll PvP instead, and a bot won't get far that way. If my new characters arriving in Ascalon could get fur, parchment, steel, gold, weapons and runes from fighting in the arena I'd have been thrilled.

Thats actually a really good idea - have the lower level arenas drop chests just like in the HoH, but have them carry PvE appropriate items. For example, in ascalon have them drop materials for ascalon armor, or in the Shiverpeaks have the chest drop items of some kind. If ANet puts alot of effort into this, they can even have the chest drop items that are appropriate to the class of the person - have a warrior picking up Iron Ingots (I forget exactly what material they need), etc.
You wont be able to farm anything from this, since in itself the items arent worth much (and will be worth less once they drop in the Arenas), but its a reward and will probably at least convince some people to try PvP.
Hope ANet reads this

I hardly ever see anyone who doesn't have equipment or skills that they shouldn't have in the early arenas.

yea, people like you get me frustrated in the low level arenas, so much so, that i refuse to pvp. stop taking advantage of newer players with your experience, saved up gold, and network of friends to run you. i have some of these things, but i dont beat up on lower levels without these things. its like the 6th grader that gets kicks out of beating up the runts in his grade. so low.
on another note, i think drops in the low level arenas would be great, i would defintatley give pvp another shot.

This guy is getting pounded. I want in!
People who use the twinkertizer should be ashamed of themselves...
You say, your 'proud' of beating new players? What the hell are you smoking?
For example, take the game of chess. If you challenge a new person to a game when you yourself have lots of experience, what is there to be proud of? Beating the person, that's only played for about a week?
Oh well it's your loss buddy, you are just wasting your time.
But then again, Ascalon Arena and Comp/Team arena do let us seperate the men from the boys. And one last catagory, Wussy

Maybe Anet should incorporate an LLD arena, so all the level 10s that got ran can battle eachother
But yeah, destroying newbies with all the LLD builds is pretty lame, but if someone was capable of killing someone higher level (like a 10 w/ droks taking down a 15 w/ droks) then I'd tell that person good job and give him a pat on the back.
-Sorry, I played LLD in diablo ii for probably 3 years, I loved it. I'm actually looking into WoW now because you can 1v1 PvP and whatnot, similar to diablo ii's, so the possiblility of making an LLD could work there.. I'm just getting tired of the team pvping :\

Thank you Former, and thank you Epinephrine. I do not "beat up" new players, and probably 90% of the people who pvp in Ascalon City these days have Droknar's Forge armor and skills if not better. And Chris, wtf, I said NOTHING about being proud of "beating up" newbs, some other flamers said that so you assume it was in my post or what man?

This is simply an idea for a build that might work at 20 also, I wanted people opinions on my build, not about me twinking, god damn. Search 'Build', tons of results... This is another one of those builds for lower levels who can and want to own pvp.

Oh, and for whoever told me to fight a twinked warrior in Ascalon, I did when I was new, and got raped, now, I rape them.

nub question: what is LDD
and for those twinkers i got hunters shot and conjure phantasm to kill! nothin like watching a lvl 10 1337 twinker w/ superior runes losing tons of health at a time

Sigh... few people can be polite about this. I'm not going to try to keep flamebait like this open. There are already threads to talk about twinking in Riverside and Sardelac:
