Shoulda specified SOLO smite run [much less comprehensive than some full team smiters]
From my many trips [and I mean many] I've never seen this. To this date, I've never gotten more than 3
4 ecto dropping from a smite run?!

3 ecto dropping is fairly common - 8-10% chance as I've seen it. 4 ecto dropping just from smites though... is a statistical anomaly lol.
This is the 1st time this has happend though and I've been farming since the cows have been coming home.

my largest drop ever before they nerfed uw drops was 6 ecto in a solo run. =)
but these days, the most i've ever seen in a party w/ 8 people, is 3 globs total from smites.

Thats not that much. Depends if you cleared FoW with your group.

A group of guildies and some members of PIE decided to some UW during a late night. We cleared all the areas but one, I believe it was the Spawning Pools (we had 2 who had to leave).
During that run, I got quite lucky scored 3 ectos. Another got 2, and another got 1 for a total of 6 in a run. I am not sure if the number of overall drop is common because I've never gone so far in UW before. Though 4 ectos in one area is definitely rare.

and he's not doing dual farming, so I guess we can write off the necro SS dual farm.

best UW run was 4 ectos.. than a gold max eternal bow req.9...thinking it would be godly....only mod is 15% vs tengu..so ya 4 ectos still good.. this was when my solo trap build was not messed up with AI build.

Best UW Smite run I ever had with my old "solo-monk" was 8 Globs of Ectoplasm.

and our tank monk friend died, so I threw my armor on and put some of the enchants I had been maintaing on myself & ran into some mindblade spectres.... 2 ectos dropped from the ones we were able to kill, and about 3 had already dropped earlier.
So 5 in total, but 2 of them my friend wasn't able to grab because he got killed too fast ^^ as did I.... awwh.

. when i was 2 maning with a guildie. a group of 5 smites, all dropped ectos. and ALL FOR ME

.Not. And in case you didn't know: you can solo UW with a monk, you can solo FOW with a monk. You can Solo UW with a warrior, as well as FOW. I heard you can even Solo HoH with a fish between you legs. I'm fully aware of all this, I was just incredulous of finding 4 etco drop all from smite crawlers.

my best one was when in a 4 man trapping group we had 4 ectos and 3 keys drop by the time we got to the smites, then we died on the first colds

was doing 4 man trapping, and first run we got nothing, only a purple chest
however second run, third mob if aataxe on the second set of staird they run into the traps, one goes down in like, 4 seconds and da dum! drops an ecto its partner runs form the AoE from dust trap, but then comes back and sets off a few more and dum dum duuuuum! drops another ecto! but that was the only ectos for that run none for me though

another time is was inthere, and the second aatace we killed, drops an ecto, then the 4th one we klled, drops another ecto. Then no more dropped

I farmed UW so much it started to hurt :P Sooo boring after you've done it like 100 times heh. Maybe now I'll go back to it. I haven't played in awhile so maybe it's time to head back in there heh.

hey this is a screen shot exposition
shows us your screen and top the top. I've done plenty of 15 mobs never happended to drop more than 2 at once. I guess it is a statistical possilibty though
