Hey all =) First post here.
Just started playing GW a couple weeks ago with some friends and love the game. Finally settled on a W/N for my main and just dinged 11 last night.
I was just looking for some pointers on how to most effectively attract the monster's attention so I can take the beating for my party. I've tried running in first, hitting a Cyclone/throwing a curse/etc. and some of them inevitably ignore me and run for the Nec/Ele/Rng etc.
What is a good strat for hate management in GW? Any information is greatly appreciated.
My party is W/N(me), E/Me, R/Me, N/Mo

Monsters do have a.i. They will attack the weakest or most important, lowest level>Class(monk etc.)
Run in first, and make sure they attack u and THEN let ur friend come(ur friend need to have the monsters out of their aggro circel so they focus on u(the warrior)

good discussions regarding tanking in pve can be found in these threads:

it has insights and discussion from some of the more experienced tanks on these boards. essentially, you need to have some distance between you and your casters when you aggro monsters so that they "lock" on to you.

Thanks you so much for those links! I figured it had something to do with the agro circle, and these confirm that. I will give it a go using these tips.
