Constrant Crashing with Audigy 2 ZS soundcard

I am quite sure it is my sound card's problem. Every now and then the blue screen pops up while I am playing, saying there the kmixer.sys file causes a page fault, any I have no other choice but to reset (I am using XP). Then I tried turning all sounds off (slide them to the leftmost position) and then it never crashed again. Anyone using a SB Audigy 2ZS has the same problem? Is there a way to resolve this? I am using the latest driver already.

Im using it and I haven't had any trouble.

I did find this: http://www.d-a-l.com/help/archive/in...p/t-18818.html

But it does not show any solutions really. So its not just you it seems.

This advice was quoted from an unknown source in another thread (the "they" referred to being Support at ANet) :-

"Well if you have a Nvidia Card and and Audigy 2 it doesnt go well with GW.

Get the the beta forceware drivers here apparently they contain a GW fix until nvidia get around to releasing them WHQL. They didnt give me that URL, but they gave me the forceware number which had the fix and kinda hinted that i could download it somewhere.

You also need the beta SB Audigy drivers here which also fix some eax 3d issue apparently.

Apart from that they said you need to have the nvidia service running, which i had disabled, and that there is an issue with some AV's (Nod32 and kapersky) which hang on loading new soundtracks, so you need to make the GW folder and exception not to be scanned.

If you dont have a nvidia card or audigy 2, you best submit a ticket with em and see what they say. So far so good for me, im over 3 hours with no crash now, before it was every 20 mins or so."

I have a Nvidia Geforce 4 FX 5950 Ultra graphics card and an Audigy 2 ZS and have had intermittent crashing to desktop without blue screen messages. I was about to swap in my old Audigy 1 instead when I noticed one of the connections on the Audigy 2 card wasn't seated properly so I've given it a go and have had fewer crashes since, only a couple in round about 4 or 5 sessions of an hour or two each.

I have a Geforce Ti 4400 and Audigy 1 in my other machine and the game runs fine on it with no crashes.

I have experienced similar problems with the main machine only on WoW.

Also, this morning I tracked down and finally managed to get rid of a couple of trojans on the main machine (tip: if your anti-virus software can't delete an offending file then reboot in safe mode, scan again and it may succeed in deleting it), so I'll have to see if that makes a difference.

Hope you get it sorted.
