I have a N/R, I know not an R/N, but since this question relates specifically to bows I thought this may be the better forum. Anyway I am having difficulty triggering MoP with my Ascalon Bow of Charrslaying (from collector in Piken Square). I don't believe it triggers with my shocking bow since lightning is elemental, but the Ascalon bow says it does piercing damage, so I don't know why it wouldn't trigger. It seems my pet can trigger the damage fine, but not me. When it was working it was quite fun, but I think that was just my pet. As soon as my pet died, MoP did nothing for the rest of the mission, even with enemies seemingly on top of each other.
Any help?
Thanks,
Matt

Are you using kindle arrows by any chance? That would change the damage type to fire. If you've watched the pet trigger it when you can't (i.e. so you know the enemies are close enough) that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Good thought, but nope, I have ignite arrows, but not kindle, plus I took ignite off my bar in favor of Read the Wind, to avoid any Elemental problems, and to reduce evading.
Anyone else? I'll give it a shot again tonight if nothing else.

If your bow isn't using an elemental string, I have no idea.. Maybe just try using a different bow, if not, I'd say to submit a bug report to ANet.

Only thing I can think of that hasn't been mentioned is Greater Conflagration.

Thanks for the help guys, it was working last night. I'm not sure why it wasn't the night before, I'm guessing operator error.
Greater Conflagration is a great idea though, I'll watch for that next time I'm having trouble.
Thanks again.

The damage from Mark of Pain does not affect the target that you cast the hex on. Only those that are in the vicinity are affected when the hexed foe takes physical damage. If you cast it on a lone mob or a foe in PvP, he will not take any extra damage.

Very correct, I do understand how it works according to the skill description. I wasn't seeing the extra damage to adjacent enemies with my bow 2 nights ago, last night I did. Maybe unknowingly I was using my shocking bow, even though I checked twice.
