thinking of switching secondary professions

i have a 20 war/monk with all war skills/most elites and most monk skill several elites
i'm thinking of switching to war/ranger for pvp i have unlocked all ranger skill few elites (i'm unsure if these transfer over)
the only monk skills i use are healing breeze purge conditions and remove hex(for pvp) and sheild of judgment for farming.
i would just make a pvp char for pvp but i have 2 15% always weapons (-5energy) customized for this character and don't want to go throught the ordeal of getting them again.

any thoughts on whether this is a sound idea?

You said that you have unlocked all the ranger skills, but they don't transfer over.
You have only unlocked them for pvp, but if you were a ranger with your W before they will transfer over. You can always change your second prof, it doesn't matter.
You can always change back and you will have all your monk skills again. Warrior/Rangers are really strong so I think it's a good idea and a Warrior with a pet looks cool.
But I'm a ranger guy, so asking me is a bit stupid, cause you know I'll say "yes be a ranger" .

umm i hate to tell you this but pvp characters have 15^50 weapons you can choose from so just create a pvp char
