Hello. Since i didnt find anything with the search function, i ask which pet is good or bad for ranger?

i am looking for a pet which can poison the enemy. is there a list which shows the difference between the pets?

Out of luck, man. The only difference between pets is in their base damage type and their appearance. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/content...ide-id1503.php This handy little URL goes to a pet guide on the site showing you what each pet does for base damage type. As for Poison, there's no beast attack I can recall that does poison damage, though Feral Lunge can inflict Bleeding.

Yeah, that's a quirk of the game. Old Mac's the only one who has a Devourer, you can't charm any of them in the actual game.

By the way... all pets are almost purely cosmetic; their damage types will vary, and damage will increase a tiny bit when you chance to a "better" pet, but at level 0 beastmastery, it really won't matter.

The Elder Widow, contrary to (someone's?) belief, simply does piercing damage, and has a slightly higher dps. Like... 0.2 damage more.

Simply said, not true. Read an in-depth analysis of pets here. You will find that all pets with the exception of bears deal exactly the same DPS (within their evolution class), bears are roughly 20% slower (when compared to other pets of the respective evolution class).

Yes they do. The only cappable bears are in the Shiverpeaks, and they do still have the Brutal Mauling attack, though it does no extra damage.

Ascalon bears used to be tamable, with a hammer warrior as an aide. You needed to interrupt the usage of one of their skills, which would interrupt your charm animal skill.

Actually, there is a way to still tame Ascalon Bears without the use of knockdowns. PM me ingame and i might be able to help you. My in-game name is Twilight Sarothin.
