Can someone explain to me why these are in such demand? I see people in LA spamming "WTB HoD Axe +25" and can't think of any purpose for it...

Discontinued item... although, I think the damage isn't too impressive on them so I'm not sure why.

dmg sucks, but it has +25 health built in so you can add a +30 fort grip to it. some runners are using them now

Ahh...I can see the use for the axe now. Though I would think that +defense would be better for runs like the one to Droknar's and for tanking...

basically it is because you can have a +25 health grip AND a +5 defensive grip

wow, that much for an extra 25hp? oh and the uber factor i guess

If thats the case i think that a HoD sword is far better value for the uses it has.
