Pre Searing lvl 20 pair
ekimarcher
ok So i'm conducting this little experiment.....
my friend and I are creating one character each which will be our Pre Searing lvl 20s
we are trying to create the ultimate lvl 20 Pre Searing pair but we don't knwo what to make
I would like to make a N/Mo for healing and minions
but we dont' know what the other will be. So any build and/or class ideas/combos would be greetly apreciated.

What IS the Max level in Presearing anyway? (In other words, when do Charr stop giving XP).
M3lk0r
It is possible theoreticaly (sp?), once you get to the stage where no mobs give you XP, you have to let THEM kill you so they level up and then you kill them. Phhooooking long, a guildi is trying it atm as well.
Akilles
make sure you know for certain you can have the skills you want in pre-searing, do they have minions in pre?
lvl 20 is very doable as others have done it BUT takes a VERY long time.
I suggest to make life easy, DO NOT QUEST!!!!
grind and kill beasts till you get zero XP, THEN do quests. That way the XP will add on as when you level up you get less XP from baddies. I even mean the "Across the wall" mission.
Also, a warrior and Fire Elemental would probably do most damage there.

You get the basic bone horror in pre-sear.
I think you'd want to do the first quest to get the starter skills then wait to do any more, as previously advised.
You can kill the bull down in the pond and the drake in the lake each time you leave town. There is also an undead boss in the catacombs, near the missing moa bird quest destination, but that would take a while to get to so perhaps that is where you start, as the monsters on the way provide XP.
Still, I wouldn't want to do it.

I have a level 14 Ranger atm in pre searing. It's REALLY long to get anywhere. I still can't solo beyond the wall, the paper they call armour just isn't made to stop attacks from those foes, so while I can do alright (solo a bit) it's just too much sometimes (2 healers+2 hunters = dead me) - and that's including the fact that I have a pet to help me out.
At this point my only source of experience is the bosses. They're worth 32 experience each solo, or 16 with a partner. That's 64 per trip to clear the altar, if I have help (which is much faster than solo!) Given that hitting level 15 will take 9800 experience it will be a while - 153 trips in with a partner. Just think, next level I'll need even more, 325 trips or so. Each one lasts a while, and it's hard to find anyone who wants to run in and pull bosses - most people still gain XP fighting the normal enemies.
If you decide to do it you can give me a shout, I'm always looking for people to run in and kill Charr with, though if you have a guildmate I imagine you'll probably just do it together. Once you manage to hit level 16 you'll need to start levelling the Charr, but the nerfing by ANet means that enemies don't pursue you as far, so you can't pull Charr back to the rez shrine, let them slaughter the monks and guards there and then let them repeatedly kill you while you make a sandwich/surf the net. Too bad, it used to work - my toon has well over 4000 deaths due to levelling enemies, but now you actually have to run to the enemy each time to die, making it a VERY long process. I was going to try, but with the annoying nerf (yeah, and it was deliberate, to stop this most likely) you can't pull them to the shrines, thus no easy levelling of the enemies. While it was once doable (by parking at a shrine, killing a while later) it is now essentially un-doable. The player who did it (God Antipowers) had the old system - 194,000 deaths to his name, you think he was there for each one? Heck no.
No you pretty much have to be present nowadays, so even taking the nearest group of Charr and dying to them in a quick death (let's say 20 seconds or so to run to them and die, each life) you'd need 194000*20 seconds or 161 straight hours of running to them and dying. That's absurd. And that's presuming they're always that close, and that in fact you can get to them in 20 seconds and die and rez; more likely they are 30-40 seconds each run for the closest group, which you can then level till they are worth killing, then rest by zoning. I suspect you are looking at >300 hours of play to do it.

Anyplace where you can still level up a Pet on yourself pre-charm?

Couldn't you just attack an animal and have it follow you to the nearest portal? The problem is dispatching the monk at the portal first before they kill a potential pet.
Kyle
LoL i would love to see 2 lvl 20's in the pre sear leaving pvp match. The other teams lvl 3 henchies and avg. lvl 7 chars will get rolled like no other and probaly quit gw
LaserLight
Funny as that would be to see...I doubt anyone who gets a lvl 20 char in pre-Sear is gonna give that status symbol up for a cheap laugh at the expense of a couple normal pre-sear morons.
By the way, as far as OP goes, go with at least one Ranger. Troll + Ignite + Dual = all you need.

Not easily - none of them will follw you to a shrine - they all break off just shy of it. You could still do it by walking to a pet and dying, but given the hundreds of times that takes, and how slow the deaths are it just isn't worth it.

Wow, some people are definitely missing grind in GW .
Good luck anyway

Yea true, some are missing something.
And no there isnt a level cap for monsters or people. In theori you can reach lvl 20 but after lvl 16 the charr will not give a lot of XP any more. You need scrolls. Oh and scrolls arent in pre. So good luck

That happened to me once when i was switching from Pre-Searing. A game moderator was testing something in the switch over and forgot about the pvp match. So he decided to have fun and killed my party in like five seconds anyways. I was so pissed off, but afterwards, when he explained the situation, I got a good laugh out of it.

I didn't get a screen shot, but I have personally seen a Lvl 20 female Monk in pre-sear at Ashford Abby.
I don't know how it was done, but somthing she said made me think that she had found a way to get back from post-sear.

i actually have a screen shot of a level 20 mo/n in pre searing -_- they said it took 3 months and about 800 hours to do... no life at all
Kai Nui
I tried it, but after I got to level 16 I moved on to searing because I was so pissed at the game taking so long with no reward. Just keep dying to the bosses and you'll level them up so that you can still get xp off them.
Sir Hadies
the highest char i have ever had in pre is lvl 17 i just had to leve i hate that place its so boring...

I thought that once you were 5 levels higher than the creature, you would not gain exp from it anymore....So i guess good luck with your level 20.
Though i have heard of a level 20 pre-sear....his name was......ahh i dunno, had the word "light" in it though

Both take a W/R, most affective class combination in Pre-Searing, and Warrior is the only class that can easily solo the altar on lvl 13-15, which is very needed. Don't do any quest (except the first quest for skills, and maybe the secondary proffesion quest), since those are nice to get later on. I'm on lvl 15 (and I haven't done any quest yet, so I'll get to lvl 16 with just that) now, and I've had experience with all Pre-Searing characters except Necromancer, and Warrior is definitly the best
There's already a Pre Searing King (I know this guy personally), so unless it's either you or your friend, your idea is kinda spoiled.
EDIT: Apperiantly, the Pre Searing King guy deleted his characters.

as Proved wrong in screenshot. Just save everything for end. I place 10 platnimum down that you give up before you make it to level 20.
