Now im pretty set on getting the ascetic handwraps and foot design because these areas are rarely hit, but im having trouble deciding on the other two armor pieces, any recommendations, personal experience or facts you could share to help me out?

Why not go for what you find aesthetically pleasing?

Really, that's the last thing that bothers me, i'm all substance over style. If one thing is slightly better than the other, even if it looks worse, im taking it

Depends on your playing style, tell your build and I can tell what you need

Healing/Divine Favor atm, but what Im really wondering is what do monks get hit by the most, physical or magical attacks, and whether you think the 10 or 5 bonus armor against either is worth the extra energy, or whether this is a fair tradeoff.

Well, this is my build. I use Judge's armor, but it's only useful in (something like) my build. If oyu feel like getting some information, read it

I personally think this comes down, not just to your build, but what you do with your build. If you play PvE a lot and can do a good job of staying in the back, tattoos might suit you best, as the extra energy storage is always nice when a battle drags on and healing progresses. However if you play PvP or have a good setup for energy recharge (i.e. essence bond in areas like UW or gear/keg farming in SF) then the extra protection of censors armor is what to go for.

Basically for a monk, how much energy storage you need should be your primary concern since it doesn't matter how long you survive if you are just standing around waiting for your energy to recharge. Hope this helps...

Actually I have no idea what Im going to be using my character for. So in PvP I would assume you would be getting hit by mesmers and getting tracked down by warriors as you are the first priority to kill. What about in PvE though? I know if you stay out of the agro circle when the monsters are still acquiring targets you wont get targetted but what about the monster eles, do you get hit often enough by them that the bonus anti-elemental is worth it?
