item swapping + scales

hi
i've just done a forum search on how to get scales which i really need for my pyromancer armour but all i can find are the following answers:
get them from the lvl 0 scale in pre searing or the ones alll the way over in kryta in post searing. Since i don't have the time or level to journey all the way over to kryta (only just got to fort ranik) i suppose the only way is to get a new character but that would mean i would have to find a way to transfer the items via both my characters.
And hence my problem: how do i do this? PLease help me-

use the storage vault in post sear which is available to all characters on your account for a one time 50 gold fee

bring it over from presear put it in the vault and have your other character pick it up

just like i did for my pyromancer

Well what if you forgot to do that? How to get scales then? Without buying them?

Basically I'm asking: What kind of stuff should I salvage to get scalesin post seared Ascalon?

i have found some on gargoyls as a drop in the defend the wall mission area

I just moved a character loaded with salvaged items, into post sear and dumped her stuff into the storage vault for another of my characters to use. Now I have deleted her and started another character so I will always have at least one character in pre-sear...gathering salvage for any higher character that needs it.

I think I`ve salvaged scale from some armor drops but I don`t remember which ones and they don`t happen very often. I stocked up in Pre-Sear as well.

r the scales the skale fins? if not then do the lvl0 skale fins drop them?
