It's a white box with a red 'x' in it. The question is "what's right with this picture?"

It's still an 'x'. The suspense is killing me!

I had a brain fart. I hosted the pic on my own domain, and it has hotlinking protection. I added gwg to it... so it should be showing up now...

Seriously, I thought the "beholder-kin" thing, and its likeness was a D&D staple? I played D&D for years, and still play the PC games, but I have NEVER, not EVER, seen "beholder" used elsewhere. Is that a snaffu or did some angry programmer want revenege for being denied a break to taco bell?

Actually, I'm pretty sure D&D ganked Beholders from something else (in its nascency in the 70s); I vaguely remember some minor "scandal" about that when I was growing up (like they had taken the name and description from some very unheard of fantasy book). It's rather their trademark now, though, isn't it?

If the term beholder is being used alone, and it is not in reference to a creature that bears the likeness of the D&D creature there is no infringement.

have you seen the creature in the picture up close? It's an Elder Orb with fish fins for gods sake

Someone is hiding a conspiracy!

Next there will be a screenplay "Ascalon Realms" written by Margaret Weiss. Then the guild names will REALLY become cheese

Nice, SOT.. I thought I'd seen the same earlier today but I didnt pay much attention to it. I'll try to find where it was and get a picture of it while its alive.. It may be a bit less than a blatant copyright issue, I'd say its more of a hat nod towards WOTC..

After all, they'd probably have more of a court case claiming that they own any and all systems using only 20 levels than a eerie resemblance of a creature that virtually every game and system EVER has made. Seriously, I've seen thousands of take off's of a beholder

On a side note.. if you really want a picture to figure what's wrong with.. Here. ^.^

See thats the weird part, its a quest from some hoebeast in serenity temple. She wants a gland, gonads, something, but the big one. It only says "beholder tissue sample" on the quest items. I never saw anything else about it. I took the screenshot because I am a dumbass, thinking aloud "oooh pretty purple corpse". Only later did I see the tooltip and almost make wheat bread in my pants.

Oh! Right, that one! The one way out near that HUGE crystal peice that made a crater lake sorta thing? It's a stormkin base if I remember right. If it had only one eye, it'd be even funnier ;D

Note on the ebay: Not the price either. Examine the main picture more closely.

I think it's a "Novelty item" from the famous D&D series, so having a piece of a beholder must be a joy to behold...!

Yea beholders are in next to every game i've played
It's nearly as common as elves, dragons and homo kill stealers(hurrah this games homo free)
I've seen everything from fish like beholders to green beholders with an eye in the middle of their forehead with 20 some odd tentacles beneath them(they floated and were a deep forest green)
