Benefits of the skill types?

I was wondering if it's possible to keep a record of what benefits/hinderances (if any) of the different types of skills? For example, I've read that you can activate a stance skill while performing another skill, but I've also read that you can only have one stance active at a time. If the different types are already written down somewhere, Could you direct me to that list? Thanks.

you can sort the skill listing by skill types. (it's the top link on the sidebar menu on the main site. skill types is the last choice on the sort menus)

Does it list any special benefits like the one about stances I mentioned above?
