Punishing Shot Boss is a slacker

I have made 8 trips with pugs and henchies to get Punishing Shot from Thul Boulderrain. The map from GURU says he is at 2 possible places. The first which is the closest( most southern) has never produced Thul. In fact Whuup Buumbuul is there once in a while. I finally just capped Escape from him for the heck of it.

The question: Does Thul Boulderrrain ever spawn on the most southern spot?

I wasn't able to get him to spawn either though and gave up.

if i were you two.. jus go thru the whole snake dance and kill everything... Its not that hard with henchies... either that or do it twice...

I just went through this a week or two ago. If you look carefully, the guru map doesn't actually indicate that Thul is at the (1) position. I'm like 95% sure that he doesn't spawn at the southern most place you refer to (by the cave). He does, however, spawn at the other 2. I found it pretty easy with henchies... just got up there and used the portal until he spawned. It's a bit annoying, but you will just get very frustrated looking for him south of War Camp.

Well I finally got it. He does not spawn in the southern most point. And he did not spawn at the north point after all that fighting. So with nothing to loose I went throught the gate at the end and came back into Snake Dance and he spawned. The best part is you can keep going in and out as much as you want cause you can see if he is there by holding ALT. He is that close to the final gate!
The down side is you have to go all the way up there. Cause the only other way is from Beacon's Perch and Ya don't want to do that! LOL

I had the same problem, i cleared snakedance and thul wasnt there. I think the only way to get him is to fight north..zone and come back in from the north..and there he is.

2 days ago i went capping with a guildie some random warrior and henchies. Completely cleared out snakes dance (at least the part we needed to). My guildie and i capped escape and punishing shot and then we went to help the tank cap earthshaker. The spawn was amazing, and i got a gold hammer!

I think the boss locations got thrown around a bit in an update, so some of the older maps are inaccurate. I'm not sure though, but I have seen new bosses and bosses not listed in the Southern Shiverpeaks before.

the best way to cap punishing shot is have some experienced runner who can run from camp raknor to dreadnaughts drift(kinda like the beacons>droknars but reverse), then zone back into snake dance, take 4 steps forward, press 'ctrl', if Thul is not there, walk 4 steps back(rezone back into dreadnaughts), and repeat. ezpz

Try to find a runner to deldimor warcamp then when you are there take some henchies and fight your way to the boss i did that way and it's much easier.

that's true, i don't know how he could have spawned that far south. the map from Xennon is correct. when i went on my run, he was at the northern most spawn point. took him out easy i must say, it's probably my most used elite next to Oath Shot.
