I don't understand this, I went to Mineral Springs for this bow but it still has the flatbow graphics. Does it still have the stats of the shortbow but just retains the ugly flatbow skins lol?

Ascalon bows could be everything, it could be a flatbow, though it could also be a shortbow or a longbow. Just get it and test it out, you'll see which one it is.

All the Ascalon Bows have the same ugly Flatbow look, which is why it's important to remember where you got yours/what type it is.

Well that isn't true, one has a recurve/composite look to it. But still WHY the ugly flatbow skin..

Most of the collector and crafter items use incorrect skins. They generally use the ugliest ones in the game.
